Yes and no. Imagine your life being a discussion with Harvey Weinstein all the time. You can get good opportunities by doing shitty stuff or you can say no and try to climb the ladder somewhere else and unless you're really special it's gonna be a long road.

That's literally the industry though. It's not like a non-adult actress saying "no I won't do sexual things to advance my career." It's an adult actress saying "no I won't take these contracts because I'll have to sleep with guys who have done gay scenes." It's no different than an actor refusing a contract because he won't work with one of the other stars - it's entirely based on the job contract, not on extracurricular sexual favours demanded for career advancement.

She has every right to refuse to shoot with black men, gay men, straight women, amputees, or any number of things. But that's her refusing work (because her job is to fuck people), not her striking back at sexual harassment demands put on her by directors.

At the end of the day its her choice to accept or refuse the contracts, but she was complaining that she couldn't be successful without shooting with those men - that's just tough shit. No one is guaranteed to be successful in porn.

This naturally created a backlash of Biblical proportions after a woman decided to pick whom she would or wouldn't have sex with. If I'm understanding this correctly, she thought that guys banging other guys was dirty, or was concerned over HIV transmission, which is much higher among gay men increasing her being exposed to HIV. Obviously, if she "worked" with a gay man he wouldn't be gay (at least at that point in time)

That's crazy, but kinda sad. So most are gone at age 25? At 25 I was dumb and bad with money, but had a degree to find work. I doubt many of them save that money.

In most cases they didn't make that much money. The average is that low because there's so many little girls who start in front of their webcame then do porn for like 1 year to pay for school or just quit because they can't take it anymore. These girls we don't even know their names most of the time. The more famous girls will usually have a longer career but considering that they mostly start at 18, after seven years of eating loads and going to the doctor to get checked out every week or so, they start thinking about moving on, you know. Also, as they creep up to 30, unless they have amazing genetics, they don't get the same roles and attention and most likely less contracts.

I get where you're coming from, but at the same time, the non-adult film actors aren't actually having sex--these folks are. From what I've read, male performers--in gay sex scenes--do not wear condoms. There is a lot of concern about the spread of STDs, especially HIV, and there is a stigma that this is more prevalent in the gay adult film performers. I don't know if this is accurate, but what I've read.

I'm certainly not claiming to be an expert by any means but I thought since the 80's there was a tonne of testing adult actors and actresses have to very routinely undertake to ensure they are "clean"; for precisely that reason; as such, provided the actor in question is clean; I don't see this as the "best" reason, its not like you're taking blood samples from thousands of the public.
