Anyone got tips for farming timber?

I've been running around Nagrand like a maniac, but eventually you don't know what direction to go in anymore. Anyone got tips or tricks to farm timber fast?

Set your hearth to Broken Horn Village in Northeast Gorgrond. It is surrounded by timber. Server hop using Group Finder to get some other instances of the area. Back when I had to farm timber I'd hearth before logging off for the night. The next day, I'd farm the town, then hearth to garrison to start the chores there.

    That only works as Horde

    Don't.

Get a trading post, same/more resources and you dont have to go farm periodically. And you get additional rep with a level 3 for the tanaan factions.

    Premade groups. You're welcome.
"Why of course the people don't want war…. But, after all… it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country."

    Wrong.

Lumber Mill provides 45 GR per work order, Trading Post - 30.

You still have to farm (or buy mats from AH) for TP. You don't know which one you will need tomorrow. You can skip few days of course waiting for your "favorite" resource but there's no guarantee it will pop in 6 days when you have to reload yout TP. But for LM it's always SAME resource. Farming just for about 2 hours gives me timber that enough for entire month of LM work orders.

Considering incoming flying, farming for LM will be about 3-4 times less timeconsuming than now. Make your choise :P

I have both a trading post and a lumber mill, I'm afraid the shipyard's need of changing equipment frequently demands both of them to get enough resources.

Don't do either. Recruit a couple scavengers, get your followers to ilvl 675, and get 800-1200 resources per mission.

Edit: If you really want to get close to 100% on naval missions, yeah, you'll need more. But there's no reason to do that. Just counter the ship types to get 75%+, and if you fail cheaply build new ships. The trick is not to try for 100% on naval missions, as it's a waste of effort.

The problem is... guess what... RNG! On my main I barely see even 30-175 GR missions but for my alts it's usually 1-2 300GR missions every day. RNG sucks.

I found the best place to farm timber is Shadowmoon Valley - along the river that flows from the western edge (spires of arak) through the middle of SMV and south (to the east of Socrethar's Rise). I usually gathered the 250 in 2 or 3 runs (go from west to south, then back again). You might only be able to find small and medium timber, but I experienced no competition from other players and a fast respawn. Use a mount that can walk on water and just run along the middle of the river. That way you can spot the timber on both sides.

Do the trading post, its far more efficient, gives access to the auction house if you do the quest, has a GR vendor so when you get upwards of capping resources you can pick up what ever mats you may need and gives you an additional rep bonus. I put a trading post on my alts and I have managed to maintain all of my alts needs merely by buying the mats I need on the days it sells for 4 or 5 resources. You don't have to spend time running around the map dealing with aggro and you don't have to do quests to unlock the follower that unlocks better lumber resources.

Frankly I don't even do the auction house quest because it only takes a second to go to town. But I do sell the parts that I collect to other people who want the auction house in their garrison. The trading post is so much better than the lumber mill that I do not regret ripping it out and putting in the trading post.

Trading post is the clear winner.

If you're doing this for GR, you can also farm the chests in Tanaan using Group Finder.
