Urgh. Yeah, pretty true in my case too. Now I get to spend all my free time on LoL instead.

Addictions to things like video-games are usually due to something in your life that you're trying to avoid, although if you were quite young when you started playing you may have just matured and got over some insecurities that were keeping you in a virtual world.
I played WoW really heavily around Vanilla and TBC at a time when I wasn't getting enough work to do much else, and whilst I had an awesome time I find it much more enjoyable to play when I want rather than feeling that I have to log in and play all the time (which seems to be a source for a lot of people's frustrations.)
This. I spend about an hour or two a day on MMO-C having fun on the forums here. That's a slice of my usual gaming time per day (full-time job plus single plus few responsibilities so long as my bills are paid equals tons of free time). Typical white knight response you quoted, though--"Something something if you're still here you're addicted!"
No, cupcake, we're still here because we love the game and want to make it known. I drank that kool-aid before before working a customer service gig and getting clued into the reality: every disgruntled voice that cares about your product or service enough to tell you what's wrong with it, is accompanied by ten to fifteen that left without a word and told everyone they know to avoid your business. If this community wants to shove out the naysayers until all that's left are sycophants and bootlicks echo-chambering the people who are legitimately enjoying themselves until the devs are convinced nothing is wrong, well, let me remind you that sort of protection from criticism is how Attack of the Clones happened.
Be seeing you guys on Bloodsail Buccaneers NA!
There always another $10 hike. Maybe next time give us no major patch, make the expansion 6 month long and charge us $79.99 instead. Then after that make a 3 month long expansion, and charge us $89.99. Then next 1 month long expansion and charge us $99.99 for that expansion.
The saying. "You get less with more money today" is soooo true.
They could hire more people too, since it seems the more people they hire then less they get done.

Didn't work for me :|
Now I am content to do Apexis dailies until I'm in full 695 epics.
To all these commenters talking about addiction just cos non-playing folk still post on this forum ...
I mean, think of it like this:
You live in a community, and you do drugs. There's a certain circle of people who also do drugs, but there are also some people who don't, or who used to, but got off the stuff.
One day, you decide to get off the stuff, yourself. So you do - you stop. But you've grown accustomed to the comfort-zone of the community you live amongst, because it's familiar, and we all like something we can fall back on like that in our lives. So, you don't move. You still socialise with said community because it's who you know, and what you're familiar with doing.
But you don't go back to the drugs, no matter how many actual addicts affirm that you only hang around the same old gang (many of whom are also off the stuff) and the same old streets, just because you're apparently waiting for a chance to get back on the stuff, in a desperate attempt to validate and enable their own addiction.
Now imagine some 'samples' were being handed out for free to the old users, in an attempt to get them hooked again ..? Surely they would regress, given this is what they subconsciously want?? Well then, let me tell you a little story ladies and gents ...
...
I've been unsubbed for 6 months.
Was just offered a free week's worth of play-time by Blizz the other day in an email.
Trust me, I ain't going back.
Simple solution - don't play games if you're not enjoying them (which from the sound of it is the last 3 expansions including WoD,) don't buy games from companies if you consistently don't enjoy them.

Yeah, but imagine you're one of the users who's happily been enjoying drugs on-and-off for years and how sick you'd get of former-addicts wandering into your den of vice going on about how terrible the drugs are and how we're all just addicted and anyway they're not as good as they used to be.
Eh Cata broke the addiction for me. I still play to kill some time ( what else are you going to do when you are up from 2am - 8m ?) but I don't schedule things around play time, and I certainly don't rush home to play anymore. There are many nights these days I opt to do other things.
I got 2 weeks left on my subscription that I've been paying for with gold since the Token was introduced, I could keep playing for free but at this point there is no real motivation to keep playing this game in its current state.
"I quit" threads are not allowed.
Closing.
