Are you interested in playing MMORPG? Probably not. Otherwise you'd want to go out in world to do stuff.

Garrison tables offer absolutely no game play. You click, log out, log in, receive loot. No game play involved. How could anyone think its a good thing, except for people who like getting gold for doing nothing?

  3. #43
I would argue it is not a good thing.

The fact that that lucrative quests are locked behind the table leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I like it because I don't mind the mission tables, especially with the changes coming in Legion. I also enjoy watching players getting salty over features they don't like, like their opinion is the only one that matters.

Also to those that bring up the gold side of it, you just sound really bitter that you missed out in WoD. Instead of bitching on forums you could of embraced it and you'd be a millionaire too

It seems to me that it keeps people logging in. At this point, no one is logging in to visit a garrison because it's "mandatory," unless you think making as much gold as possible in WoW is "mandatory," which is actually a "your problem" kind of thing.
Apparently not, since they lost more than half their player base in 1 expansion.

I feel like everyone is missing my point here. It doesn't matter if you like the tables or not. It doesn't mater if you completely hate them. Just because a lot of people hate the system doesn't mean it is BAD for the game.
Let me just put it like this
Mandatory Tables are TERRIBLE Optional Tables are FINE
When the game forces you do them, either literally or by offering irrefutable rewards, it becomes DETRIMENTAL to the HEALTH of the game.
But the system on it's own, if made COMPLETELY OPTIONAL, does not effect anyone who chooses not to do them WHATSOEVER!

So I say leave the system in for people that WANT to do it, But don't FORCE people to do it

I'm not denying that people enjoy the gold but I log into the game to actually do something, not flip through menus. To each his own and that's fine.
What I don't get is when people complain about leveling. Leveling is where you take control of your character and smash things in the face, in the open world, where you immerse in the zone you are in, with hopefully other players around to interact with. That's basically the MMO right there. If people don't like that, why are they playing? People would really rather flip thru some menus, order up missions, and receive gold/items in the mail?
TO FIX WOW:1. smaller server sizes & server-only LFG awarding satchels, so elite players help others. 2. "helper builds" with loom powers - talent trees so elite players cast buffs on low level players XP gain, HP/mana, regen, damage, etc. 3. "helper ilvl" scoring how much you help others. 4. observer games like in SC to watch/chat (like twitch but with MORE DETAILS & inside the wow UI) 5. guild leagues to compete with rival guilds for progression (with observer mode).6. jackpot world mobs.

It was a shitty expansion. At least half the players keep logging in. It could be like 5% of the players keep logging in.

I know that the only reason I keep logging in is to recycle my AH listings and collect my gold from my garrisons. I'm sure I'm not the only person who is doing part B while waiting for a non shitty expansion, which will hopefully be Legion.

Not only locked behind the mission... I could deal with that... but it's locked behind a mission that can fail. So I do a 6 hour mission, it fails and I need to do it again... YEAH gameplay...

It's a stretch to call them a "good thing" but from what people actually in the beta are saying they don't actually matter that much. I don't really know how to feel about them since I'm not in Beta. From the outside on one hand I agree that it is pointless content that doesn't need to exist but on the other I don't see it mattering too much if the rest of the game is good. But I'm a weirdo in that garrisons didn't bother me as much as a lot of people but I don't really like them either.

I had fun with the mission tables in WOD, I was happy when it was "loot tuesday" and all my alts got a cache with loot.

Then at some point you realize the mission table was playing the game for you and cutting your content completely. I mean, epic loot even easier to get than doing LFR? really?

I can't possibly think of somebody who really enjoyed doing that if it wasn't for the stuff you got out of it... otherwise you have to thank they guy who did Master Plan, because that must have saved million of hours to WOW players.

Who cares mandatory or optional. Gameplay is shit, it's not engaging and not fun.
People like fighing things, killing other players or monsters, doing quests.

I would rather tinker with my own character than with faceless followers crowd through boring menus.

    ^This

I miss WoW being about an open world. WoD killed the illusion. Legion seems intent on poking the cold dead carcass, that was a fairly immersive open world, with the pointy end of a stick.
