I've never mentioned being better than dhs/hunters/monks/mage or the best, I just think that you can somehow stay competitive dmg wise if you have the right legendaries and you can play properly with FoE(and I say it based on my own experiences while playing with some of the best players in the world).
Our utilities overall are dogshit, we're lucky that some of the affixes make the treants VERY good but that's about it
Yes, compared to those classes, you, a balance druid, are average at best.

Tried FoE in mythic+, but I have to sacrifice too much single target to still pull less aoe damage then everybody else, so what's the point?
I didn't like the spell design from day one, and I refuse to use it, its just horrible for me.

    I run FoN / DB / Resto aff / Typhon / Inc / BoA / NB

I run mythic+ with almost always the same setup: War Prot, Dudu Heal, Dudu Balance, Hunter M, DH Havok.
My hunter and dh friend can pull a lot of AoE, and most of the times I do more single target, so I guess we are well balanced.

BUT I only did up to 7+, don't have experience in 10+.
    My 2 cents.

    Cheers

Since trash is like 80% of the instance, shooting stars is amazing on packs that live a long time, same with stellar drift.

It just all depends what your group has. If they need AoE or boss damage.

To be fair, our two groups that clear +10 weekly have an ele shaman and frost DK in them, so it's not like being a mediocre spec prevents you from making the clears.

You need a heroism, you need a person with aoe stun/snare to deal with raging/necrotic/bolstering, and the rest you can fill up with whatever.

Tanks are pretty obviously your best method of optimization.

    Bear druid>prot warrior>>Blood DK>DH tank>Brewmaster.
