    OMG defeats Yaspresents

I've updated this post with a link to the stream at the bottom. To watch the matches, scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the match you want to watch.

OMG (Jungyup on Hunter, Sleepingss on Death Knight, Goochii on Paladin) defeats Skill Capped (Pookz on Mage, Snutz on Warlock, Toez on Paladin) in the 3v3 Blizzcon Global Finals 3-2.

Any comments on this subject are welcomed in this thread. Try to leave out hate towards specific players.

I forgot which map this first game was, honestly. :\ (OMG)
The first game gave very little hope to the team of Skill Capped after the amount of damage taken by team OMG. Dominated is all I have to say.

    Bladge's Edge Arena (OMG)
The second game was a long match (~9 minutes) and Pookz went out of mana and decided to give everything they had to go for a kill on Goochii (the Paladin). They achieved the kill, then Pookz died as well seconds later. It came down to a 2v2 and I thought that Skill Capped would take the victory (I assumed Snutz had his portal up) but OMG took the win after getting a kill on Toez without a bubble and then after Sleepingss dying, Snutz died.

*Reckful himself comes to the stage to give inspiring words to Snutz and then fans at Blizzcon collect the dirt that fell from his shoes on his holy walk*

    Ruins of Lordaeron (Skill Capped)
The third game Skill Capped opens VERY hard on Goochii to try to force cooldowns as early as possible. Snutz almost dies several times and OMG forces Toez to use almost every one of his CDs back to back to back to just get to Snutz to toss him one instant heal at a time. Skill Capped struggled until OMG ran out of CDs then Snutz got a howl of terror on multiple enemies, with the healer running far off and then Pookz tossing a blanket CS on the paladin as well to assure the kill on Sleepingss.

    Nagrand Arena (Skill Capped)
Both teams playing very defensive, peaking in and out of the pillars trying to have as little time in line of sight of eachother as possible. Slow game with just poke damage back and forth. Both teams trying to catch eachother in bad places to take advantage of the moment. Pookz being the main target for OMG for almost the entire game, excluding the start where Snutz tries to take advantage of his UAs and Soul Swaps as he pokes in and back. After going through each and every cooldown again and again on Sleepingss and Jungyup, Skill Capped switches to Goochii and uses as much as they can to lock out his cooldowns (wings/aura mastery) and guarentees themself a kill after Death Coil, Impact Stun, blanket CS and novas.

    Dalaran Sewers (OMG)
Trying to use the same poke damage strategy they did from the last game, they open with little pressure. Catching eachother in the middle, each player spikes up and down, being forced to run back to the boxes and back out to continue the fight. Goochii hanging back while the Jungyup sits on the edge and Sleepingss in the middle. Skill Capped has to play flawlessly and take advantage of any little mistake OMG makes in order to score a kill. Clearly OMG is favoring using the bottom of the map and pull out pressure on Pookz the entire game. Skill Capped's main strategy seems to be swapping between anyone in a bad spot. Going for it all on Goochii, who has more than enough cooldowns still up, Skill Capped has a failed attempt for a kill and Pookz runs out of Ice Blocks and Pookz dies.

Small mod edit just for the sake of having the most important post as the first.

Very refreshing to see an unorthodox comp come this far, if they beat Snutz (smug bastard) I'd be the happiest chappy around and it'd make my weekend!

was watching it, they got lucky with RoV imo, such a good arena for hunters. but both brilliant teams, they came back from 2-0, with a simple tactic of blow the DK up ASAP, and it worked very well.

    whens the final?

I just saw it, the grand finals are in 5 minutes, but DAMN that was some fast paced action!!

Edit; they first posted the finals to be in an hour, but thats when the closing ceremony starts, so its in 5 mins instead ;3

    In 5 minutes.

Don't forget they also got a double Dalaran Arena which favours the Shadowcleave, and they won on it for one of the matches!

I think the consolation games are first, no?

Or are there no consolation bracket games?

Ah they may be, on the Blizzcon stream it says the Gran Finals are at 2:05am CEST (in 1 minute), that should include the consolation matches I'd guess.

This is a brilliant tournament nonetheless!

Edit: Nvm, grand final matches are first. :P

Whilst I am content to see a hunter and a bad comp in general be in the grand finals I am pretty pissed that they only won because of RoV. They should've tunneled Another from the beginning due to how vulnerable they are to physical damage, going on Fabio just because lolcloth go on clothie is a pretty cheesy tactic. Plus I'm not a fan of brute-force type of matches, even more so when they win simply because of the map RNG (I realize they won on Dalaran but that was showtime's fault, Another should've humped boxed and he didn't, guess he wasn't expecting it - doesn't matter, they wouldn't have ever made the same mistake again).

Yas seemed a bit dismissive at the end, didn't seem very sporting to OMG when they came over to shake hands etc.

Really enjoying this tournament a lot more than last year

    OMG 5th, DNAW 4th, Skill Capped 3rd, Team EG 2nd, Yaspresents 1st.

I was thinking Shadowcleave would beat the Shadowplay in the end, and was thinking EG>MLS's(both of them) and Yaspresents barely getting by the MLS's.

It was pretty much impossible for yaspresents to win on RoV and they got RoV twice in that set, that´s pretty much 2 auto wins for OMG there.

but there was also 2 Dala arenas wasnt there? and dont they favor yas' team? though not the extent of RoV and hunters, so much open space.

That's basically what I was expecting. Or well, I would've thought S-C would've come second, EG third, Yaspresents first. They're all good, but honestly, having a PHD on the finals just because RoV is an abortion makes me really quite sad. I wanted to be happy for them but I can't, really.

Plus I need to stop having flashbacks of S8 whenever my dispellcleave entered RoV thinking it may be Beastcleave/ATC/PHD else I'm going to have a coronary.

Watching the stream made me wonder why arenas like RoV are still in the game... :>

Going up the elevator to meet a beastcleave/LSD with haste trinkets/MLS with haste trinkets was a nightmare.
