    Google/Virus

So for the past couple of hours I've been worming my way around the internet working on getting a dvd burner. While doing this i turned off my windows firewall for a bit and turned it back. (Problems with the program if anyone asks why) Now whenever i try to google anything it just locks up for a minute or two then redirects me to a spam site. Could this be due to a virus or did someone mess with Google???

most likely not google, more probable would be the browser you use.

    Chrome lol....

Also if it matters. The redirect only occurs once the search results have appeared and i try to go to one of them.

also do a yahoo search and see if you get a redirect

Mainly spam sites. I've googled a few different thinks and keep getting redirected to different things.

Edit Edit: Browser Hijacking... Only happens when i go through a search engine on any browser. Can anyone direct link me to something to remove malicious software?

Sounds like your Firewall isn't very good or it complained about the stuff you were searching for/downloading. Probably shouldn't turn it off in that case.

    Download and run both.

Well still having trouble running programs. When i ran Spybot it got rid of all threats besides one. Talked about it being in critical files and reproducing quicker than it can be deleted and recommended booting from a CD. I was planning on reformatting anyway so i had recently backed up anything i needed. Thanks for all the help though lo....
