    H Rag 25: Managing phase 4 meteors?

    This is probably the biggest issue my guild is having right now. We are getting to phase 4 consistently but having 2 meteors up is causing a lot of chaos. Are there any tips for making this a little less crazy? Pushing 1 meteor doesn't look like an option. Currently we have it where if a DPS is fixated, they are to kite the meteor along the back of the room and then 1 of our 2 hunters will knock it back. If a healer is targeted, we have the hunters knock back the meteor immediately.

    Should the classes doing the knockbacks be frequently leaving the frost patch and not really worry too much about their DPS on rag? Should we appoint 1 person to be on meteor knockback duty 100% of the time?

    Have 1 person who is vocal on vent focus on the knocking back, kite the meteor away from the direction of patch.

    When second patch spawns make sure its is clear from deadflame, everyone wait on the current patch until the meteor is almost in it, move away at the last moment and burn it down, move to next patch carry on.

    People knocking back shouldn't be leaving the frost patch at all, when your all stacked inside the breadth in piles of 3 and one person gets targeted, he then runs out of the breadth and kites it so that it runs along side the patch, then it gets knocked back, repeat. Also we use DK's and deathgrip to knock back since it doesn't reset the CD of DG and can be spammed, although we usually get 1 meteor we have killed it with 2, just makesure one is marked and that the people know there assigned meteor.

    Once the second breadth spawns and the path to it is clear then call for a meteor to be moved in, wait for it to get frozen before attacking obviously, nuke, move to new breadth and pop a tranq, repeat.

    Make sure they use the minor glyph "Glyph of Resilient Grip", it will reset death grips cooldown every time they use it on a meteor.

    How close are you to pushing 1 meteor? It really makes things A LOT easier. Maybe it's easier for you optimize p3 dps instead of having to deal with 2 meteors. If you can't make it, always kite meteor as early as possible. At least it works best for us to kite them away immediately after you are fixated and not getting them close to the breadth.

    We let people kick their meteor themselves if they can't kick their own meteor, we have 1 backup kicker doing it for them.

    My guild has never really solved meteors, we just kept stacking more dps and dropping healers till we could do one meteor, then we stuck a dk spamming deathgrip on it. (25).

    It works quite well :-)

    Ya, we could probably push 1 meteor in p3 with lust and an extra dps (if we switched to running only 3 healers), but our healers right now are really concerned with being able to keep everyone up during the transition 2 and final phase. We would probably run with holy paladin, disc priest (maybe holy?), and resto druid.

    Easily. Have him target one meteor and use DG on that. Have him use a focus macro for the other. If he is really good he'll have other macros to not impede his dps on ragnaros. It could be done in various ways. Targetlastarget, assist macro or just retargeting etc.

    Last question, dont u get a debuff for 5 seconds if you hit it back? or does dk dg get rid of that?

    The meteor gets the buff so it can't be knocked back again, the person who knocks it back gets a stacking dot that lasts like 30 seconds but is easy to outheal.

    Technically this isnt correct. When a meteor is susceptible to knockback it has a buff called "Combustible". When the meteor is knocked back this buff is removed for 5 seconds rendering the meteor unable to be knocked back. Once this buff reappears it can be knocked back again.

    Pushing only 1 meteor can be also done with 4 healers. For the healing in the 2nd transition phase you can (ab)use moonkins' tranquility and also use healthstones and other raidcooldowns if you're 3 healing it. Maybe just give it a try and see how close you can get.

    If you get the 2nd meteor now with ~16-17%, I'm sure you can pull 1 meteor off if you really focus on doing it (and use 3 healers). Try also to push him into 2nd transition phase before he casts world in flames to get some free dps. You want to push him to ~90m hp before he submerges. (our best try was 89.7m)

    Can the meteors be hit for further distance if the next person hits it from behind rather than directly into it? or is it a predetermined distance everytime regardless of the direction its traveling in
