DCUO account question

Since DCUO became free to play recently I thought I would get back into the game but here's my problem. When it first came out I got it on the PS3 and quit a while after I got a character to 30.

Now I want to get it again but this time on the computer, more specifically, through steam.

But I don't want to have to start over, I would like to keep my old characters from my PS3 account.

Does anyone know if that is possible? Can I log onto my old account on the computer and continue with my current characters?

Also would it be possible to merge my PS3 account with my steam one? I ask because I saw that option on the portal 2 main menu when playing it on my PS3 and that might make it easier to get my characters back.

Any info anyone has would be greatly appreciated thank you.

As far as I know, you can't switch between ps3 and PC. Steam and Portal2 are a different animal.

Just gonna have to start over.
