    Graphics Cards

My 9800 GT died recently so I may have to get a new one im kinda low on price range but have some possibilities

    EVGA - GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 Graphics Card ($150)

Asus - NVIDIA GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB GDDR5 PCI Express 2.0 Graphics Card (same card with different maker but only 120$)

EVGA GeForce GTX 460 1 GB GDDR5 PCI-Express 2.0 Graphics Card(ive heard this one is better its a bit expensive but theres a rebate 159/129$)

I would appreciate any opinions or suggestions but nothing above 150$

What PSU do you have? Just wanna make sure you have the headroom on your PSU for any new GPU's.

As far as a GPU itself, I'd say spend the bit extra and go with the GTX 460 1GB. They run better than the 550 Ti's (yay 1GB of RAM on a 192-Bit bus?!?!?!) and generally overclock really well. I'm currently running a GTX 460 1GB Superclock (that I OC'ed a bit more) and it runs most games I throw at it like a champ @ 1920x1080.

aww well there's a problem I bought a velocity micro like 3-4yrs ago and I have no idea the model number let alone the psu watts, I tried looking inside the case but the number there has no watts and doesnt turn up anything in a search.

its possible I could buy a new power supply, but after looking at how its wedged in that case im a bit skeptical id be able to install it :/ im not super good with replacing parts

after doing some digging looks like they dont carry any power supplies lower than 400w, after further digging looks like I have 550W Epower, so i should be okay with the new graphic card lol Thanks for the suggestion

550ti gives terrible performance for the price.
Your best bets are either a 460 or 6850... both are about the same price and performance.

I say if you want better proformance then go with something a little more pricey but well worth the price like a gtx 570-580, around 300-440, or a 560, best bang for your buck, but if you want to go all out, get a new psu, mother board and grab a gtx 590.

The 6850 only needs 1 6-pin pci-e power cord... it costs about the same as a 460 and performs about the same too.

I don't recommend the xfx ones though, I hear they have loud fans.
