Should this computer be able to run wow without problems?

Lately I have had problems with low fps / people running in spot on wow. Currently I run wow on “good” settings except that shadow and liquid details are turned on low. I get 15-20fps on raids and busiest spot on SW. Latency is 30-40ms/60-80ms. The constant freezes of surrounding environment are really annoying. GM's response was to remove addons (interface, cache, WTF folders), which I did, but it did not fix my problem. Now I'm wondering if my system is getting old or is this network problem. I do not want to call my ISP just to hear that my computer is too old to run this game.

The problem is that I do not understand anything about computers. I bought this system from local store ~2 years ago just by requesting that they would build a computer for gaming (even mentioned that it should run wow, which I don't like to tell to random people). Now I live in another city so I can not go and ask them to update this pc.

I will add dxdialg here and it would be wonderful if someone could look at it and say if this pc needs updating. I do not know if you need this information, but my pc case is Nexus Clodius and monitor is 47” LG LED TV. If you find something wrong in this system please tell me. I'm helpless with this problem.

People running in place is almost certainly a network problem.

Not wireless. I'm using cable connection (internet connection operating over cable TV lines) also connection between my router and computer is via cable (normal ethernet cable). Oh well, maybe I just need to pick the phone on monday. Thanks for fast replies people.

Everything is fine from what i can see 64 bit os, 8gb of ram, quad core cpu and a decent gpu.

I had a broken router back in TBC that would kick me every 10 - 20 mins, if you have anothe router to test that might help.

The i3-540 is a dual-core... but yea still plenty for wow.

You mentioned FPS. I would start looking at your Harddrive and clean it up a bit. Are you defragging your Harddrive? Are you running a virus scanner at least once every two weeks? Keeping up with your harddrive will ensure a longer life span of your gaming computer, and may fix your FPS issues. Your hardware is fine, I run a far less intensive computer with eh specs, and get better FPS than you, so I think it might just be that.

Running on place or major intervals in WoW could be solved with a simple click in the game.

The optimize for network speed setting works but only if you have good internet. It reduces latency but increases bandwidth usage... if you don't have the bandwidth to support that then it'll make things much worse instead of better.

I have Verizon FIoS internet, pretty much the best on the market, and their highest package that I pay a pretty penny for. I have noticed that disabling this has made it even better for me, even with my high download speeds and such.

That's weird lol. Guess it varies from provider to provider. Having it enabled helped my latency a lot when I was just using basic cable internet, 8mbps or so.
