Seems like 1 headshot = 1 cert. Least that's how it was for a bit for me.

Some of em were pistol not headshot kills, so yeah.
Have they fixed or given us any development on the EU Steam version yet?
seems really slow to get certs for unlocking anything i know they do it like that so you buy stationcash instead of the long grind but the conversion rate doesnt seem all that great that some items still cost 700 station cash for a simple weapon that takes 1000 certs but then again 1000 certs is bout 1000 kills... id imagine those hardcore shooter lovers that play it non stop its an easy grind but to get a better repair tool or of all things a better scope or foregrip it seems a bit harsh that from what i saw better ammo packs goes default > 30 > 50 > 100 > 500 i think which is expensive as all it does is increase the time its deployed for by a few minutes plus after watching the training videos while still downloading the game it said you could use certs to upgrade your rocket launcher as heavy assault to lockon to air and ground vehicles but after checking it ingame they arent certificates but are two complete different guns
The only weapons thet REALLY make a difference are the rocket launchers, all the others are really different ways they handle and stuff.
Played about 10 hours and got rank 5 medical tool and other stuff, so isn't that bad, can still play just fine with starter gear.
The majority of capture points are indoors, where the vehicles can neither drive nor shoot (if you watch where you stand).
The larger bases have shields completely blocking vehicles from entering the whole area until infantry disable them.
It's really not hard to avoid vehicles, unless you spend all your time in the Crown clusterfuck.
Infantry are fine, perhaps a bit too strong actually. The anti air missiles are pretty ridiculous, let's not forget that in a high population fight there will be a dozen aircraft with 80 STA lock on missiles aiming at them. This is how it was the last week of the beta after everyone got 1000 free certs, you had to have rank 4 flares to even leave your warpgate, and you STILL had to hide behind mountains waiting on the cooldown half the time you were flying.
Tanks also aren't scary because they can't do much but provide cover and shoot the occasional out of position infantry. Go drive one around an enemy base for a while, one organized squad will take turns running around corners and launching rockets at you and hiding and you won't get a single kill in the 7 seconds it takes them to blow you up. Join a whole column of tanks? Fine, enemy can easily make a column of tanks themselves, and if you're attacking somewhere like Zurvan the added base turrets and heavily fortified infantry positions will stop your invasion pretty quick.
This game revolves around infantry captures. Therefore, it revolves around sunderer and squad leader respawns. Tanks exist to support sundies, air exist to take out sundies and tanks, anti air exists to take out air. Galaxies exist to support squad assaults. Everything revolves around the basic concept of "infantry standing at CP to win territory."
The fact that, if you're driving a vehicle, you kill a heavy with a rocket launcher and he's back 10 secnds later firing at you again but if HE kills YOU you'll be back in...30 minutes with a new fighter is balance enough in my opinion. It will be a very long time before people farm the certs to have their high ammo rocket pods with zoom 3 and their anti infantry machine guns with nightvision and their max flares and their composite armor and their fully certified respawn timer. And, even then, it takes two hits to down a mosquito. Because of that, even one hit will make him pull out and fly back to his nearest bio lab for repairs.
As someone who primarily flies mosquito/liberators, for the love of God infantry are fine against vehicles. YOU might feel useless *by yourself* against a tank, but this is supposed to be a team game, planetside has always been punishing for solo artists.

There's something about vehicles, and why they should have a timer, cause of this.

Sure they can't capture, but they sure as hell can't let anyone get out.
Kinda amazed at how many less EU players there are than US atm, pretty much all but one EU server is Low.
Finally got the game up and running, I'm finding it a little overwhelming and not finding it easy to join a squad then find out where they are.
to people saying how strong vehicles are: wait a few weeks until everyone has lock on certs and can kill tanks and aircraft much easier. Infantry can be very strong if you get a sunderer or 2 deployed in good places.
Anyone playing a non-sniper Infiltrator? I've been thinking about investing my certs into a scout rifle and 2x reflex sight, but I haven't seen any Infiltrators not hanging back and sniping.
Nothing ever bothers Juular.
Miller and Woodman are both high/very high at peak times..

@holtzmann, I have tried it, its sadly not really working, see, we were promised something called Shadow armor. (which would be similar to ps1's stealth) but they didnt release it at launch its still being worked on. also the removal of the shotgun (nova?) to infils greatly weakened us. I have the scout rifle, the artemis one, and its ok, but its not good by any means. takes almost a full mag to kill.
at its present state the infil is no more then a glorified sniper. the hackeresque role I was hoping to play isnt present, it lacks 2 major things listed above, weapon choice and shadow armor. there is still some fun to be had but nothing even close to what infil could be.
Aw, that's sad. I guess that if I want to sneak around (my aim sucks, so I need to take the initiative to have a chance of killing anyone in that game) I should go Light Assault, then?
