Yeah they said that since the release of the game, aswell as FC summoning primals aswell as SMN getting new egis. They say a lot of things but they don't do it. Which is a shame since EU dataservers should be a priority.

A large portion of European players - myself included - will likely be far too settled on North American servers to consider moving elsewhere.

    No press stuff yet, but the heavensward site has updated with new blurbs discussing new tidbits of information, a recap, and lore about certain things;

    People
Ysayle: Better known as Iceheart, Ysayle stands as the leader of the heretics- those who have pledged their allegiance to the dragons. Denouncing the teachings of the Holy See, she means to put an end to the Dragonsong War

Aymeric: A man of Ishgard, and Lord Commander of the Temple Knights. Though not of noble birth, by virtue of his countless accomplishments, he rose in rank and achieved his current station. As the war against dragonkind rages on, he risks life and limb to protect his people.

Count Edmont de Fortemps: Lord of House Fortemps, one of Ishgard's foremost noble families. Unlike his insular peers, Count Edmont is quite welcoming of foreigners, willing to aid those with just intentions

Estinien: The current Azure Dragoon, and the mightiest hero of Ishgard. Bearer of the Eye, an ancient relic plucked from the great wyrm Nidhogg, he wields the power of dragons. Long absent from his post, he has returned to Ishgard to drive back the ancient enemy of his people

Archbishop Thordan VII: As the spiritual leader of the reclusive nation of Ishgard, he is an unquestionable object of veneration. He also holds the highest seat of political authority in the Holy See.

    Locations

Ishgard: In the central region of Abalathia's Spine, the great mountain range that spans Aldenard from east to west, can be found the forbidding highlands of Coerthas and the Holy See of Ishgard. The archbishop of the church, while leading his people in the teachings of Halone, the Fury, rules also as the nation's sovereign. Ishgard's formidible army of knights wages constant battle against its mortal enemies, the dragons. Faced with ever more aggresive attacks from its serpentine foes, as well as an unprecidented spell of bitter cold, the theorcracy's days are dark indeed. Matters have grown so grave as to prompt the archbishop and his advisors to consider throwing open the heretofore sealed gates of Ishgard and calling for outside aid.

Dravania: To the west of Abalathia's Spine lies the rugged mountainous region of Dravania.

As the name implies, these lands are styled after the dragonkin who call her forelands home, long feared by the people of Ishgard.

The hinterlands to the south bask in the beauty of the Thaliak River and fields of evergreen. They once played host to the great seat of knowledge, Sharlayan. But alas, she was abandoned in the exodus fifteen years prior. Left to the wildlife roaming her once proud estates, she is resigned to slowly fade into memory.

Abalathia: Nestled in the mountains of Abalalthia sits the Sea of Clouds.

The water and wind aspected energies of the surrounding area create a perpetual mist reminiscent of clouds, thus making the location true to its name.

These same energies can be attributed to floating islands within its mist-shrouded borders.

The unique climate conditions of these islands have given rise to heretofore unseen animal life. And with the advent of airship technology, Ishgard has slowly expanded into this brave new frontier

    Beast Tribes and Primals

Bismarck: Ruler of the clouds, worshipped by the Vanu Vanu. Folklore tells of a legendary white whale said to swim in the Sea of Clouds as if they were the waters of the Rhotano. According to Vanu legend, however, Bismarck led their ancestors to the floating islands. With waves of fury he purges his domain of those that would do his followers harm.

Vanu Vanu: This avian beast tribe resides upon floating islands dotting the Sea of Clouds. Prior to the advent of airship technology, man only dared to dream of reaching these islands in the sky. And so, for a time, the Vanu Vanu were unknown to the rest of the world. Times have changed, however, and now they must adapt as outsiders encroach upon their home.

Ravana: Fourfold master of the blade, savior of the insect-like Gnath tribe. A warrior and conqueror, Ravana respects strength and abhors weakness. He revels in battle with worthy opponents, and is known to wield the legendary Chandrahas blades.

The Gnath: A tribe of insect-like beastmen known to inhabit the southern region of the Dravanian forelands. Having made remarkable advances in alchemy and metallurgy, these hunters have developed incense which deters Dravanian intruders, thus preserving Gnath territory. They are said to share a collective mind, linking them in spirit to their leader.

There was also apparently some kind of community video on Nico Nico in Japanese that talked a bit about Heavensward, but from what I understand it was just discussion over the last Live Letter, if you try to look it up now it's been set to private, so I'm thinking that they'll be putting it up on Nico and Youtube with translations for the latter

    - - - Updated - - -

There also some new pictures, showing, among other things, that white feathery dragon from the Dragonsong video was Nidhogg (the video hid his left side, looking in the concept art it's clear his eye is gone) and something that looks suspiciously like the Warring Triad from VI

    Embargo is over, infodump coming

Max Ilvl at launch will be 170, AF2 will be just below it, the 170 gear will be equivalent to Darklight

    - - - Updated - - -

Alexander HM's gear will be dyeable, normal's won't. Alexander NM's gear will be better than the tomestone gear and HM's will be BiS. An example of the theme of Alexander's gear is the white and red armor you had the option to give yourself in the benchmark.

  8. #16128
Oh thanks god for the Alexander HM being bis and dyeable.

Where do you get all those stuff omg ?

A hands on from a member of the press

    Pertinent information:

Dark Knights' Living Dead functions very much like a Death Knight's Purgatory in WoW, upon taking a fatal hit the debuff up, you become undying but have until the buff runs out to be healed to 100% or you die.

Machinists work on a reload system for incredibly powerful abilities, having an instant cast to reload a single ammo, or a longer channeled cast to reload all five, they can swap out barrels to make them do more damage in return for a higher TP cost, and have two turrets, a single-target gattling gun and a AoE shooting lightning gun. Both can be told to swap to supportive stances that restore MP and TP in a radius.

Astrologian had the most mentioned, Diurnal Sect does pure healing and adds linger heals over time, Nocturnal sect adds a barrier effect to most healing spells. The stances can't be changed in combat, so you need to decide which one is best to be in before heading into a fight

The Astrologian cards have been revealed:
    10% increased attack speed
    10% increased attack damage
    20% TP reduction costs
    20% MP reduction costs
    20% ability recast time reduction
    10% increased damage taken

Yes, you read that last one right, there's a dud card that actually makes your friendly target take MORE damage. In addition, you have shuffle to redraw a card, spread to set it aside for later, and Royal Road which drastically boosts the card's effects, 1 and 2 becoming 150% more potent, 3 and 4 having increased duration, and 5 and 6 becoming party-wide AoE at the cost of their effect being reduced by half.

Monk was also mentioned because it's the interviewer's main class. Monks can now spend greased lightning stacks for a single big hit, in addition during downtime they can meditate to give themselves Chakra passively, at five stacks it can be used for an attack or to restore TP. A move that was described as "Like an aerial Kamehameha" as well as a short CD, Off-GCD move that lets you skip a step in your combo were also mentioned.

"For Disciples of the Hand, players can now choose up to three specialisations at level 55. A new currency/item called “scrips” can be used to change your specialisation, which will unlock specialist actions used to create exclusive items. While you can only have up to three specialisations at a time, there’s nothing stopping you from freely switching to any and all Disciple of Hand jobs, so you can get them all up to level 60 with no limitations."

Free-company airships are split into four parts that are customizable, with effects like spending more fuel (ventures?) to be faster and so on. Square's looking into expending airship mechanics in the future.

"Disciples of the Land will receive a slew of new actions, which players can use in new treasure hunts. A new item/currency, called “Divine Favours”, will uncover hidden and bountiful gathering nodes that will grant additional materials. These favours are obtained by trading aforementioned scrips."

Most of it's second-hand from the reddit, if it's from an actual interview I'll link it

Minor clarification, the source was wrong: Ilvl 170 is the MINIMUM for endgame gear, and is what AF2 begins at

Cross-classes for the new jobs are somewhat predictable: MRD/GLD for DRK, CNJ/THM for AST, and ARC/LCN for MCH

  15. #16135
Damn... AST looks so OP..... those buffs wtf. What is the cd ?

The guy said on Reddit he was told by the staff that Au Ra are reptilian and draconic and not demonic, hence him referring to them as such in the article

God dammit Square, make up your minds.

30 seconds but if sounds like the effects are exclusive and overwrite each other, and no clue what the CD on shuffle is (except "long") so you may be stuck with the damage taken card on an unlucky draw. Given the sheer strength of it, I imagine Royal Road will have anywhere from a 1 to 3 minute CD.

AST also has a Beacon of Light type ability where you mark a target and they're healed for 50% of all healing on other targets

He also mentions that the damage taken card could have been a mistranslation on his part, it may actually be a damage reduction, we'll have to see. They were under orders to take no screenshots so most of what the article said was said from memory

    Also some minor summoner stuff

"Also Dreadwyrm Stance, the QA guys (I don't play Summoner), had cast Bio, Bio II and Miasma on a target, charge up my Atheral, then when it was 30 seconds from cooldown, I could hit Dreadwyrm and cast Ahk-mon.
It was dealing about 2.7k-3k NON crits. Insane if you ask me for clearing trash."

"They've made dots hit harder to compensate for spell speed being kinda silly for Summoners."

Edit: There's also a potential to cast it multiple times in a short timespan, basically giving us a flare.

Edit 2: Picking apart his wording since he kinda didn't have any idea what he was talking about, it sounds like you'll have enough stacks of bahamut aether to use DT and Ahk Morn when Aetherflow is half a minute from finishing its cooldown, giving you filler to use after your aetherflow stacks have been used (which with the new tri-disaster I imagine will be quick)

    Heavensward has a fist-bump emote /endthread

    - - - Updated - - -

Dark Knights have an ability where they put a buff on a target party member, and if that member dies the DRK gets 20% health and MP back

Dear god, I am laughing so hard

Lol... dat Summoner stuff... it's kinda cool. The 2.7k/3k non crit was at level 60 ? have to compare it to Flare. Is it an aoe ability ? I don't know Ahk Morn.

And lol at dat DK buff haha... put the damage increase on a party member, put the dk buff. Kill the member, profit.

Wonder if it'll work on pets...
