What Hardmode type do you prefer?

We've had several types of hardmodes since wow launch, but which ones do you prefer?

Not sure if this is what you are asking, but i believe ulduar implemented hardmodes the best. You had to complete the fights with entirely new mechanics...not just X mob has Y more health and does Z more damage.
We live in an era of "me versus them", an era where something is done that you don't like means you are personally attacked. People whine too much.
Let us play video games and be happy.

Triggered, ie. XT 002. If you can't trigger it, you'll never be able to do the hardmode. I really like that.

Also the ones where you need to build up to it like (insert name of the first Uld boss, which I forgot) where you can select which towers to destroy/keep, and Yogg, with keepers.

Ulduar-type Hardmode is the easy choice, we had so much fun in there.
The game behaving differently because you played differently gave you so much more immersion than clicking in a menu somewhere.

Sorry for being misleading. Ulduar triggered hard modes (Freya, Mimiron, Vexxaz (spelling?)) above anything else.

I liked all of them in ulduar both triggered and speed kill.

Triggered. Even if it's stupidly obvious triggered like "Press the Button" or "Don't kill drakes beforehand for moar harderer"

I'd also add that I prefer multi-level hardmodes.

Going from Obsidian Sanctum +0/1/2/3 was a lot cooler than the current all on or all off flavour, plus it actually provided an appropriate difficulty for a much broader range of groups.

Ulduar hard modes for sure, also hard modes that exist in multiple levels of difficulty (Obsidian Sanctum, Flame Leviathan, Freya, Yogg-Saron)

Firelands Hardmodes, and all hardmodes since Wrath, have not "just been X mob has Y ammount more of health". Ryolith you have the oozes, Beth you have more spiders to deal with etcetc. Not going to go on listing all the changes, and while I do agree that triggered hardmodes were better, saying that its just the same fight with more HP, and more DMG is not correct.

Ulduar was great, but I think the hardmodes of present day are really fun also. I know that I feel a lot more challeneged with these hardmodes than I did in Ulduar (sans like Firefighter and No Lights ofc).

Agreed. Ulduar model, all the way.

I was thinking recently they could add more hardmodes as a patch goes along. A "weekly challenge" type thing, and you can pick which ones you want to do. This week, Shannox has 3 dogs, next week the small spiders don't stop coming on Beth, stuff like that. Mechanics changes, rather than stricter output requirements. Would certainly add a bit of variety as long patches draw on...

Does not matter for me at all

Holy crap @ the results. And Blizzard said they didn't like the Ulduar HMs. Their fans obviously did. Wow.

Ulduar no contest with exception of the speed kills cause they are just bloodlust nuke alot of the time

Sure Ulduar had a cool method, but eventually trying to figure out a trigger for every single boss in the game just wasn't going to work. I mean they couldn't even do it for every boss in Ulduar (Ignis, Razorscale, Kologarn, Hodir, Auriaya). So out of a 13 boss instance (not counting Algalon because he doesn't have a hard mode, he just IS hard mode) 38% of the bosses didn't have a trigger. Could you imagine how boring it would be if Blizzard tried to keep up with the trigger method for every single tier after Ulduar? We'd see re-used and re-hashed triggers every single tier, and with the way people complain about Blizzard "re-using" content there would be just as many people whining about the trigger system as there are people whining about the fact that it is no longer used.

Because of these reasons I'm personally all for the "Setup" version of Heroics, it allows raiders who want to experience that content the option along with additional bosses (Sinestra) and phases (P4 Heroic Ragnaros) to really give it that Heroic feeling. I also prefer having it all on one lockout so I can raid one night a week after it's all on farm! :3

Ulduar is the best content we've had by far. It is a bit buggy, but it was hell of a lot better than the later models, or the ones before.

I love the multiple difficulty levels like Sarth + drakes, FL, Freya and yogg..... it really was the best model they came up with.

I would prefer them not having different modes on content tbh... I liked how it was back in the good old days I feel the separation they started with only leads to more problems than it make up for and going back to the original plan to have only one mode would also make people push to be better. Now I dont mean to have eveything on "heroic" mode from the start but to have the bosses difficulty increasing the further you get into the instance. For example have the first 3-4 be easy next 3 normal, 2-3 hard and the last boss the hardest.
