If people think that, then its a nice way to show respect for the men and women who did so then, sure they would be thrilled to know their sacrifice and the thousands in unmarked graves who died in agony would be thrilled to know that people simply don't give a crap, but are more excited about a computer game.

I'm not disagreeing with you, I just believe that people have the right to acknowledge a day how they see fit. If they choose not to, then it is a little sad but also perfectly fair.

I'm a bit sad now though. I thought I was in a topic about what happened at 11th novembre of 1918. I guess 6 numbers in a row is more important than the glorious deeds of the soldiers who gave their life for peace and justice.

I don't think anyone tried to belittle the sacrifices of anyone who died for their country. However, remembrance day isn't probably a universal holiday or anniversary in most countries in the world. I can't speak for the op, but in my country a similar anniversary is in May.

And to stay somewhat on topic, I've only been sitting infront of the computer nolifing as I usually do when I have a day off. I've no plans to do anything special besides ripping all my CDs again - stupid breaking hard drives... >.<
