    Or to just snip the relevant bit:

    terms inside parentheses or brackets
    exponents and roots
    multiplication and division. As they appear left to right
    addition and subtraction. As they appear left to right

    sight, not this again.

    it's 2... and 288, both are correct/incorrect, due to this one actually beeing doable in several ways.
    (Yes several ways, it just depends on what country etc you are from, as there are minor differences in teachings, yet all are correct)
