Especially considering that Oregons last two games against a ranked SEC opponent ended in a close loss and an absolute beatdown. Both on neutral fields no less. I still think if LSU can pull together a decent defense they have a chance to beat Bama and A&M and take the West. If they do that and win the Championship i think it'd be impossible to keep them out of the NC game even as a 1 loss team.

Either way, hard for me to get in too much of a debate over the NCAA. Oregon got caught, and punished. Manziel blatantly makes money, gets put in the naughty corner for 30 minutes.

Tough to defend the Manziel thing. Either he was caught and should have been legitimately punished or you didn't have proof and he should have played. That half a game suspension is another albatross around the NCAA's neck. I suppose it just comes down to proof and in that case no one would sing.

ironically the main argument against a playoff system in FBS is that it would allow people to get a 2nd chance and devalue the regular season. it's just odd to have a NC lose their division and conference

Again the year LSU beat them 4 teams had the inside track to that title game. ALL of them got beat by cupcakes. Who do you take? A team that lost to the top ranked Tigers or a team that lost to Nobody U?
