I've been looking for a new monitor for a long time. While I've been thinking of getting one of the Asus monitors (probably the 25") I was wondering if the IPS screens are worth it? I haven't done much research into them, but from what I heard, the color is far superb when compared to the TN screens (which I assume the Asus screens are). Would it be preferable to go with one of the Dell IPS screens? The price seems very reasonable at $230 for the 24". Will it be noticeably better than the Asus? I'm only going to be using it for gaming and movies and have not upgraded my computer for 2-3 years.

Edit: After checking the Dell U2412M, it appears to be $350, not $230. The U2312HM is correct. Thus, I ask whether the 23" IPS would be worth getting over the 25" Asus simply because it is an IPS screen? With my current setup, I highly doubt my GPU will use either monitor well, as I'm still running with a GeForce 9600 that has served me surprisingly well.

Not all of the sales are live yet, but it will be $300. I recently got an IPS panel, and the color is very nice. I would go with a 23 or 24" IPS over a 25" TN, but to play any games you will need a new GPU.

I've currently only been playing wow and have been getting reasonably FPS, albeit my monitor is still only 17". I think I will go with the 23" IPS over the 24" just since the price is lower and I've found that they are both reasonably similar in performance. I am planning on getting a 570 in the future, though. Thank you.

Any type of job with "on call" wait time tends to allow this. From firefighter to power company emergency response to even office worker waiting on another team to finish up their part of a project so your team can do their job. Our sales team used to be notorious for it because they'd only work hard during the morning, then bribe people with expensive lunches during lunch time. After that it was pissing around until it was time to bribe people with expensive dinners. No one cared cause they earned a small salary but made most of their cash with commissions.

An nvidia GTX 560 Ti is a nice step up from a 6870, so it would definitely be worth the extra $30.

A 5970 will outperform a 6970 as long as the game supports crossfire and utilizes both GPUs on the 5970.
