So I just got my Crucial m4 SSD (first SDD ever) today and I was expecting it to come with a 2.5 to 3.5 adapter thingy. I checked my Lancool K62 box and I didn't see one. So was the SDD suppose to come with one or the case? Did I mess up by not buying one?
Not all SSDs do come with these. However, none of the OEM ones do.
The "Transfer kit" version might come with. I don't have time to check up on it further, sorry.
But, don't your case have 2.5" fittings?
I'm personally swimming in both conversion-carriers and ways to mount them in the case that I don't need it.
In any event, an SSD doesn't need to be screwed in anywhere. It helps, as you'll find it easier and it does help the tidy look of things. But the SSD won't move about since it has no moving parts, nor does it get damaged if it would happen to receive shocks (of the impact kind, still likely if it's an electrical one). So you could have it freeballing if you so desire.
