Something I never understood about games today

Why do people think you have to spend a LOT of money to play PC games? PC gaming is CHEAPER than consoles, simply because you can build a PC for 500$ (Check the computer threads) Use it for gaming, internet, chatting, whatever the fuck you need to do because its a computer, also games are much cheaper. You can buy a console for what, 250$? But you can only game on them, sure you can watch your movies and all that, but you don't have the things or can do the things you can do with a PC.

A $500 computer will have worse graphics than a console. I've read the computer threads too, and the $500 computer is basically a myth if you're accounting for every single cost and doing it all legally. The only thing my cheap-ass (a.k.a both about as expensive as my 360, separately) laptop and desktop do that my 360 doesn't is go on the internet and message people.

Oh and no need to pretend time doesn't have a cost either.

And aside from steam sales, $50 for a PC game isn't all that much better than $60 if you're a casual gamer.
