    Ivy Bridge lineup... a quam of mine.

    I sincerely hope this is wrong and Intel isn't going down this route again, but look at this lineup recently released:



    Note the absence of several extensions on the unlocked K series chips... specifically VT-d. What the hell is the point of disabling that permanently when they are more expensive for the multi unlock? This will certainly make midrange Ivy Bridge silicon undesirable for enthusiasts that can't exactly afford the high end enthusiast parts (ie myself).

    Maybe that part becomes very unstable and unpredictable when you tinker to your own clock speed, so they chose to disable it?

    They did the same for Sandybridge.. None of the K's have VT-d
