    [Bio] Jasper Gooding

    Name: Jasper Gooding
    Age: Late 30's (At Death)
    Race: Geist
    Gender: Male
Languages: Jasper speaks both Common and Low-Common although the mask over his face muffles his speech. It is apparent that readjusting his mask can make his speech coherent.
    Class: Rogue

Personality: Jasper is a cryptic, callous and cruel Geist who has severed his ties with the Alliance and his former allies of Gilneas and since allied himself with the Forsaken; Jasper has remained distraught by his own death. Slain by his fellow Gilnean citizens for allying under Genn Greymane, Jasper has felt betrayed by the world and has become bitter because of it. Despite his anger regarding his death, Jasper wasn't willing to give up on his morality in life, but was certain that his former home would never accept him, Jasper swore his loyalty to the Dark Lady. As a Geist, Jasper can no longer be accepted in the society he once knew, but has chosen to remain faithful to the world by joining a side that is meant to "do good".

Despite having maintained some humanity, post-death, Jasper does behave similar to his Geist brethren. In moments where his mind "slips", Jasper lets out maniacal cackles and wails and has displayed cannibalistic behavior. Jasper does his best to stray from these actions when in the presence of the Knights of the Ebon Blade, choosing to remain on their good side as long as possible if it will keep him alive and well.

Likes/Dislikes: One of the greatest joys of Jasper is the feel of reaping at the raw flesh of a still-warm body. Jasper basks in the glory that is digging his elongated claws into the flesh of his prey to no end. It is his greatest joy that is his greatest detest; finding great disdain in how monstrous he has become. He loathes his current self, yet cannot stop the mindless killing.

Appearance: Jasper is slightly larger then most Geist, standing at a tall 6'7", although he does maintain a skeletal and very weak figure. A violet-colored cuirass covers his chest that matches both the cloth around his forearms and legs accordingly. A hood of the same color covers his entire head, save his one yellow-eye. His nails are long, black and sharp; the latter being their most personified feature. A thick noose sits around the Geist's neck, having remained their as a reminder of his death.

    History

The only son of Silas and Leah Gooding, a Gilnean soldier and a caretaker, Jasper was the whole world to his parents. Silas’ rank in the military did not come with benefits, good pay or even the honor that a soldier deserves; yet he constantly did everything he could to give Jasper a good life. Jasper loved and adored his father for everything he did for him; even wanting to become a member of the Gilnean military like his father. It was a dark day when the Northgate rebellion had begun, unleashing Civil War on the city. Caught in the fire of cannon, Silas was slain doing his duty.

Jasper and Leah mourned for weeks, until the latter succumbed to her depression. Climbing to the tallest tower in Gilneas, Leah committed suicide, cursing Gilneas as she did so. Jasper was left with nobody in his life, being an only child and having endured the blunt of poverty in Gilneas.

Without a home, a life or anybody to go back to; Jasper took to the streets as his new home. It was here that Jasper met his new family, the Brotherhood of Thieves. The Brotherhood offered sanctuary to the still young Jasper, along with a new life. It pained Jasper to follow the path of darkness that would have shamed his father, but Jasper was left with little choice.

The leader of the Brotherhood, Reginald Greaves, a Gilnean rebel who sought to usurp the throne from the “mighty” Genn Greymane, had taken a liking to Jasper. Reginald saw part of himself in the boy and took him under his wing; one day Jasper would succeed Reginald as the leader of the Brotherhood.

Years would pass and many of the Brotherhood would eventually fall to the power of Gilneas, many imprisoned and others killed. What remained by the time of the events of the Elemental Invasion of Azeroth consisted of twelve men. Reginald, having grown sick from age, lied on his death bed with Jasper and another thief named Kimley at his side. His final words to his apprentice and friend were a plea; “Free our brothers…”

Both Jasper and Kimley set out that night, armed and ready to free their brothers in blood. Sneaking past the night watch of the prison, Jasper managed to open the prison cells of at least fifteen prisoners before the alarms sounded.

Taking up speed towards a local farm, the Burrowfield Farm, the group of thieves found themselves cornered by the Gilnean military. A battle broke out, thief against soldier, led by Jasper who proclaimed freedom from the tyrant King Greymane.

The battle turned in the favor of the thieves, overwhelming the soldiers by using the landscape to their advantage. Despite their win, Kimley fell in battle and Jasper suffered a direct blow to the abdomen by means of sword.
Lying in a pool of his own blood, Jasper watched as his brothers escaped for their lives as more soldiers began to march in. His eyes shut closed before he could see anything else.

Awaking in a farm, Jasper was wrought with pain in his stomach and learned that the wound was already healing. Next to him sat a young brunette, the daughter of the farmer in charge of the Burrowfield Farm, who had nursed Jasper back to health.

Jasper had sustained a vertical scar across the eye and had lost a large amount of blood, but he was alive. Jasper thanked the girl for her help and attempted to leave, only to be stopped by her as she gripped his hand. Telling Jasper that the military would capture him, Jasper displayed his little care for the “military” and pushed past her. He quietly thanked her before he left, sincerely thankful of the good deed that had been done by her.

The Cataclysm erupted soon after, breaking the Greymane Wall and soon bringing the Worgen that inhabited Silverpine into the city. Alongside the Brotherhood of Thieves, Jasper had assisted those who were loyal to the nation of Gilneas in protecting the innocent. It was unlike them to do as such, but in troubled times they had little option. Things went downhill when the Forsaken invaded; the Brotherhood slowly consumed by the curse of undeath. Before Jasper’s eyes, his closest friends were raised as undead monstrosities, he was disgusted.

The events that unfolded forced Jasper to align alongside the King of Gilneas, Genn Greymane. Despite the fact that he despised the King, he knew that the surviving was key in this war against the Forsaken. It wasn’t until Genn revealed to the whole of Gilneas that he had become a Worgen that Jasper displayed some form of respect for him.

It was his respect and loyalty to Genn that drew anger in Lord Godfrey, whom Jasper was stationed under after Duskhaven had fallen. Godfrey ordered that supporters of Greymane be killed, on the grounds that they were siding with a monster. Jasper displayed his anger with Godfrey’s proclamation, equally marking his own death in the process.

A noose placed around his neck, Jasper was propped up like a flag before those who were aligned with Godfrey. His last words were the same as his mother, although he did not curse Gilneas into an eternity of darkness. He cursed Godfrey, calling him the monster that he so very detested.
Godfrey had none of this slander and pushed Jasper from the scaffold on his own, killing the thief in seconds. His limp body slowly rocking as it hung.

When Jasper opened his eyes, he was shocked to see light and taste air. He had died, he was sure of it, how could he breathe? Jasper’s one bare eye rose to see a floating ethereal woman before him, floating in the air with her hands raised up.

She revealed herself as a Val’kyr, a servant of the Dark Lady. She informed Jasper of the Forsaken’s success in Gilneas, drawing anger from Jasper. It was then that it all came at Jasper like a flood of water; he was raised into the undeath. He was a monster.
