Protection Rotation Question

This is my first time playing this class, and I want to make sure I don't develop any bad habits. I have a question about a couple situational spells.
1. When do you ever use Exorcism? Is it ever better to use for a pull than Avenger's Shield? Is it better than using Hand of Reckoning if you lose threat?
2. Hand of Reckoning vs. Hand of Protection

never use exor, might as well take it off your bars if you're prot.

er hand of reckoning is a taunt and hand of protection is a bubble for yourself or others, completely different things.
