If i do the pre-download on the homepage of swtor without actually buying the game, once i do buy it i just enter my key or something than i can play?

i would assume so.

You enter the product key into your account, this activates the account as owning the game. Then make sure you have your security questions and payment set up and your up and running.

So i can basically start downloading it now without actually owning it?

i have it on my PC and im unlikely to buy it til mid January
