Why is our Mage's dps so low? H Yor'sahj

She's one of our more geared players, has DTR, has her 4 pc etc and is consistantly lower on our dps charts. I'd think on a fight like Yor'sahj that favors fire mages, she'd be shooting ahead. From what I can tell, other similarly geared mages are far outstripping her on this fight.
Here's the armory for the mage in question. Her gear looks fine, ran it through rawr and there really isn't a lot of room for improvement I can see.

She's not using combustion right, I can do as much in dmg in one combustion as she did with four combustions.

Layuth may have a point. It's not that all women are bad, it's that they should all play healers or hunters. Maybe cute little kitty cat druids. It says so in the bible, look it up.

She hits her haste plateau's with a full 10 stack...

1) I'm kinda shocked to know she's a woman but to have her transmogged set look like that. Idk, just wouldn't expect it from anyone but a guy playing a female char.
2) Layuth, the sexist comment there is out of place. I know a few damned good players that are female. Quite interesting!
3) Off the topic before I attempt to answer your questions: Wouldn't your rogue benefit more from being combat for that fight? The constant swapping of adds would be the bane of assassination I would think (the awesome AoE would be awesome for the black ooze, however).
4) Not sure if she's keeping Living Bomb up as much as she's supposed to. Last I heard, it's supposed to me near 100% up time, but it looks like it's only up about ~70% of the time.

Actually I guess I'll say something slightly helpful. Does she know what askmrrobot.com is? It's a very useful tool if you don't feel like doing a whole lot of paper math to figure out your best reforges and gems.

I think the bigger question is why did you give the staff to someone that doesn't really seem interested in learning their class and making best use of it?

She is having trouble with using combustion correctly. Do you know what addons she is using? I suggest telling her about MyBigIgnite and/or Combustion Helper, I have a preference to CombustionHelper since it is easy to use. The cause of her low dps may be caused by the fact that see is not spreading dots to the adds, it will boost dps incredibly. I hope this helps.

I understand the mechanic issue. I'm just not really understanding the gear issue... Run through rawr, her gear is reforged nearly perfectly... Should she be ignoring that or sticking to it... Unless I'm using a different version of rawr than everyone?

I wasnt planning on replying to any threads this morning but i really felt like this mage is totally hopeless so i will

earlier in the thread i read someone saying that the stat priority for mages was something like hit>haste>crit>mastery, now while this is true it prob worth saying it is a bit more like this hit to 17%> haste to 2005> crit mastery> haste over 2005> hit

in saying this prob the most important thing is getting hast to 2005, now when i look at your mage's gear what i see is 1809 haste, however your mage also has the 4 piece (+500 haste) which means she can go down to 1505 haste, now look at her gear:

Neck: haste>crit
bracers: haste>crit
legs: haste>hit
ring: haste>crit

above is a few options of how she can drop some haste (not a perfect way to reforge) she should also be able to find a way to get closer to 17.00% hit

Didnt look at the logs but she should ensure that she combust spreads black ooze adds and with 4 pc combust should be up every time there is an add phase.

It is prob worth noting that your raid doesn't have ideal raid buffs for mages however that fight is so geared towards mages it shouldnt matter.

on a side note your rogue is doing it so wrong, your raid setup is insane for aoe therefore he should be combat (I am the world rank 1 rogue on yor'sahj 25man hm)

As said above, her combustions are very unlucky or improperly used.
