First impression was this is on rails and its a bit crap- oh I just hit a massive meteor and now i'm dead - Stupid

    then just didn't bother-

Try it again but first i bought some ship upgrade and i started to enjoy it, then completed all available space missions - pinged a nearly empty xp bar and walked away with 14k in creds and some ship upgrade and badges--

    And now i Want more

    I like it.
I hope there will be co-op space missions in the future!

...or maybe entire raids or flashpoints in this fasion!

I like it right now, but I can see myself getting bored of it in the future if there isn't some variety in the missions. :P

I've done some of the early space missions, and they seem quite fun but very easy. The only thing I dont like is that you have hardly any control over your ship, it flies in a certain direction and you cant change that, but maybe later on that will change. Some sort of radar would be useful too.

Good little mini game, serves its purpose well IMO

It's a lot of fun and the rumour mill keeps suggesting that they will expand on it, Anyone else get reminded of lylat wars ?

I would also agree with people above saying it's too easy, you can do the red/orange quests in one go, even with little modding.

When taken for what it is, a mini-game. It's okay, I can use 15 mins from time to time on it np :P

So true, seems pointless to just have them floating when they are doing nothing. Epic grades start at level 43 for the record.

I'm thinking they will eventually create a more in-depth customization scheme for your ship. The old school star wars fighter games like X-Wing/TIE Fighter are still some of the best space combat games ever. If they could eventually morph the space game into something like that + in depth ship customization, then you might see people playing the game just to do the space combat portion.

they're not made hard through actual difficulty, they just put unavoidable mechanics in like sending you through 5 rows of star destroyers firing cannons at you and barrel rolling does jack and missiles don't reload fast enough to viably kill all the turrets.or being chased by an invincible millenium falcon type ship that has 100% accuracy and huge ass cannons. barrel rolling/evasive action does nothing and you might as well just take it, and it eventually goes away.

also despite being in different parts of the galaxy there's at least one duplicate mission per "map" that just adds objectives or has different bonuses. maken te assault is the funnest though.

They're a nice little added extra. The ship system in itself is genius, get to roam around on your "mount" with friends if you want and get to kick some @ss too? Yes please.

It is a refreshing break and change from the normal. It is a mini game but a charming and fun one to me!

I think I've found a major bug with space combat. On the missions where you are attacking a station (e.g. Llanic Station), I recently got an upgrade to the amount of missiles I have to 80, so I decided to see if it was possible to destroy the station buy destroying all the various parts and then launching everything I had at the target on the bottom (which I have previously not been able to damage). Well, this has happened exactly the same twice in a row now, I've managed to destroy it, but a split second later the text comes up saying that the bonus mission is complete and game completely freezes and I have to end the program with Task Manager.

Is it just me this happens to, or is it everyone? Or alternatively, is this Bioware not expecting someone of such advanced piloting skills to be able to destroy it, so they haven't fully coded that yet?

I like it. It's a fun little side thing to do, some of the missions to drag out too far though.

I had really hoped it would have been actual PvP though, with lasers and rockets only, for all ships, that way it would have been extremely skill dependent.

I really like them, most are not that challenging but fun anyway. And those "escort" type of missions really have you on the edge when you're trying to frantically blast all incoming enemies before the hit your protected target.

I'm really liking the space combat for what it is. I think they have a pretty good foundation for further expansion.

Its fun, but I wouldn't want to do it for long. There aren't many level-appropriate missions, and I wouldn't want to do the same ones over and over.

I didn't check into the game very much before the release but what i thought of space combat was that it would be some kind of pvp event coming u from time to time with different goals of the event (either just pure deathmatch or defend/attack). I wasn't sure how it would turn out but i were at least convinced that i would get to steer myself. Turned out to be some kind of flash game where you avoid and shoot things in a designated course. First time i did it i got pretty disappointed but after i few times i got at ease with the idea and started to see it as a way to do something else when you start to get tired of leveling the normal way. Like it a lot!
