    WTF really?

So I bought the game today for 65 bucks, I come and I can't play until I use a subscription. What happened to my free 29 days I get for buying the game, oh wait I can't use it unless I use my credit card or buy a game card.. This infuriates me beyond belief. Bad impression so far.

Was the same with WoW, the month free didn't apply until after you started subscribing.

Its like that with most MMOs
If you have a credit/debit card fill in the details and the cancel the subscription and you wont get taxed.
If you dont, buy a pre-paid 60 days game card and use it, and you will have 3 months.

Oh BTW when i started WoW i wasnt asked about a payment method, to thoose who say it was like that with WoW, they are wrong.

Nop when i made my Bnet acc i had no card at all and i didnt have to use or setup any payment method to play out my first month

You add a card for your sub but you dont get charged, It was the same with rift its just there to take it after the free month. Add it and then cancel it right after. You still get your 30days free, I dont understand why you QQ tho. If you brought the game you wanna play it? So... your gonna pay anyway? :P

I started my wow account in 2005 and it was like that then. It did not charge you until your month was over but it wanted a credit card or timecard none the less.

No one does The point is OP really doesn't have the right to complain because he knew (or should have known) what was required.

Just put in your CC information, and before the month is up, cancel if you don't like the game. You'll never be charged.

Also, with WoW, the game may have asked for your CC information, but if you closed the window before submitting it, it would still activate your free 30 days.

WoW has a trial option nowadays. Back when I bought it it was required to either pay for a month or buy a 60-day game-card. The "second month" was free then.

I believe it even said it on the back of the physical box at the bottom, small letters.

    Not this thread again.

I'm really baffled as to how so many people are caught unawares by the fact you need to have a valid payment method on file to redeem the free month. It's like that for practically every subscription service that offers free time. Heck, even the 2 free months of Hulu Plus I got with my Christmas gift said, on the back, that it required a valid payment method.

Started my account on the 30th of December 2009, I didn't need card information till afterwards.

"Could" be something they have changed then reverted over the years.....then again "could" be a region thing.

I am well aware what year it is thank you. Regardless if they did it then it is not likely to have changed now.

This. You will get charged after your free month expired.
