    The scarab books, shadows of the apt.

    I'm actually reading that one right now.

    Found a few links you could use:
    * http://www.babynames.com/
    * http://dicelog.com/yafnag
    * http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/20010208b
    * http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/494210

    Also, be sure to search your name on the armory before you actually use it.
    The more unique your name is the better it is.
    You don't want to use a name that's already been used by 100s of other players after all, right?

    I like to take existing fantasy names and alter them until they are original.

    Ysera, for example.

    Ysiel is a variation seen on an NPC in Zangarmarsh.

    Yzael is my personal variation.

    Yeziel is another variation.

    I used Dawnbreeze. It seems like more of a Last/clan name though. Although it's nice with titles like "Battlemaster." Whatever you do, if you do the two word hybrid, do NOT use heart, or soul. Those words are far to common in names.

    The good thing is a lot of the times you'll get suggested something that kind of fits the race at least (or at least that's my experience...).
    We dont have the random name generator in Europe.

    as a nightelve you can go for something plane like Mara
    or something complex like Elves in other Genres. Silmarin or Ethaniel

    then you may concider the class. In my case every class has a certain feeling - for a Mage names need to sound fluid and elegant, while Rouge should be short and pointy. Priests should sound pure and Warriors either average or noble.

    without any information i would Suggest: Sinyasa (thats what the Elf in Drakensang2 used to say before attacking or doing a certain action.

    for example my toons are:
    NelfDrood - Undra (years later i figured out that Undra means "to wonder yourself" in swedish)
    NelfRogue - Tyrih (came from Tyrigossa in sunwell comic)
    GnomeMage - Naniru (is the Incarnation of the goddes of Destruction in the RoLW Series)
    Drenai Shaman - Shiris (another char in RoLW - i am not 100% happy with the name today)
    Humanpriestess - Sariel (is the Angel of Healing and Purity)
    Gnome Warlock - Zanna (comes from the Demon in Might and Magic 10 Dark Messiah "Xhana"
    human Paladin - Kira (when i was a Kid i red a book where Kira saved the Mankind - i liked that name since then)
    Draeneihunter - Arcain (comes from Arcain, a hero in the Diablo Series - his pets are named after Unique Bossmonsters from D2)
    Gnome Warrior - Mirian (dont know how i came to that one - hit me while driving to work)
    Dwarf DK - Kaelna (comes from the cursed village in the Yugioh series - i changes some letters though)

    in any case i wouldnt go for the standart names like Legolas or other well known Names, nor would i take a name of a NPC and change it a bit.

    Well according to wowpedia normal Night Elf female names are Kaylai, Keina, Deliantha, Meridia, Freja, Alannaria, Nevarial.

    So you should go somewhere in that direction, adding y and i after e and a and clearly ending with an a.

    Thanks for this awesome signature tazsar!

    I'd go with either Türande or Üsera.

    Walk around Darnassus and take a note of the night elf NPCs, see what they're named. Then come up with something similar, or combine two names.

    Tangentially related, I remember that the random name generator for night elf females in-game used to suggest "Cyber". Hilarious.

    Legolass?

    What class is she? It might help.

    Aurora, for several reasons. First of all its a natural phenonomen, 2nd it reminds you of the shine you can find in ice in sunlight.
    And since a mage casts ice around all over the place, and also arcane is almost the same type of lighting.

    Note that Night Elves do live in a tree, thats why I myself think it fits.

    Otherwise I tend to find names of animals I like, then I take the Latin name and make something of that. F.ex Crested Gecko (Rhacodactylus ciliatus) wich ended up being Rhaciliatus for me and my shaman. And there my druid found a funny, but quite overused and people mistake it, thats Furcifer, wich is the genus of chameleons, noticed it when looking at Panther Chameleon.

    Well, is it supposed to be a serious name or something witty? If so, what class are you going for? That can always generate some stuff

    Try Elfvira, if it isn't already taken.
