Quick question about crew skills

Ive picked my 3 ,Slicing, TH and Artifice, but before I level them I wanted to make sure of something. Im pretty sure that TH and Art go together but Ive yet to get any crystals(only Gemstones) to start leveling Art from TH. I saw That Arch gives crystals, Will I be dependent on the market to level Art or should TH be matched with something else?

Without Archaeology, you will have to find another way to get crystals.
Arch gives crystals and artifacts.
TH gives gems, among other goodies.
