Program Won't Open/Run Anymore - Windows 7

[Grrr]

So I'm not sure what happened, but a friend of mine is having problems with a program. The program is Family Tree Maker, and it won't start anymore. It won't do anything actually.

The .exe file does nothing. I tried a System Restore, going into the file location, running it as an admin, and different compatibility modes.

I'm not sure what the person did exactly and won't find out until I see them.
It doesn't do anything but try to start, then it just stops.

Can anyone offer any help?

Can you delete it and reinstall? Do any other .exe's work?
