    [TV] Sherlock

Series Two aired today. If you haven't seen series one I strongly suggest you check it out. I really enjoyed this episode and it's a great start to this year!

What do you guys think of the new episode?

If you haven't seen it, here's a trailer:

    Can't wait till next week.

Haven't watched the new episode yet, but I loved the first three.

I'm curious (and slightly fearful of) what they're going to do with the Hound of Baskervilles... it's one of my favorite books since childhood.

I loved it! I've gott to say I like how well they modernised it, but I found that out last series and this was a superb follow up. The only fault I can honestly find is that there's only 3 episodes per series, which I think has something to do with Doctor who.

Oh and I loved the references to some of the cases from the books when Watson was writing them up on his blog.

absolutely love it so far. Cumberbatch is completely brilliant.

Have yet to decide on wether or not I like the way they headed with Irene Adler.

I heard they cancelled this show.. Watched it today, my god I've never gotten so many chills and "Holy crap, what just happen!" moments in any series before - love it, the acting is great as well.

The music in this show is amazing, as well. Anyone know who's the creator of it?
    Hi

Steven Moffat has a strong hand in it. He also writes most of the stories with others of course.

I don't know about it being cancelled. Maybe if you can link something but I don't get much news about it because it's a UK show thats not airing here. I have to go out of my way to watch if you follow.

I know Martin Freeman is a busy man these days with the Hobbit (he's playing the lead, Bilbo), so maybe a hiatus. Still, if we only get the 4 shows it was worth it. Incredible, un-matched television.

Not cancelled, just no 3rd series announced yet. They are doing 3 new episodes again this season so one airing on Sunday and another next week, I think.

Benedict Cumberbatch has been a busy guy as well. Currently in Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and War Horse, he is the voice of Smaug in the 2nd Hobbit movie and was just cast in the next Star Trek movie as the main villain.

While I like the modern-world setting idea, it never really enticed me. Sherlock without the victorian charm is like a pizza without cheese.

Amazing sig, done by mighty Lokann

Awesome. Thanks for the info. Cumberbatch is so damn amazing in Sherlock. I was going to go check out Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy and now I know I will. Truly amazing actor. Awesome that he's the next Star Trek Villan too. That should be epic.

Damn. I really wish this would air on North American television. I don't think audiences realize what they're missing.

Hollywood's doing that now. Good movies, but I take the BBC show over Robert Downy Jr. any day.

I just wish they would announce what villain he is going to play already. Really curious if they are going with a totally new story and new villain or if they will do what most people are expecting and rework an existing trek bad guy.

And I believe Sherlock is going to air on BBC America this summer. Sadly, it still will most likely not be seen by people who are not already aware of British TV, but who knows.

Even though they are not set in the Victorian age, I think the series feels way more true to the original material then the American movies. Those just feel like standard action movies that just happen to feature characters named Holmes and Watson.

For sure. You could call them Jim and Chris in the American films and it would be the same thing. They didn't have to use Sherlock.

I do enjoy the new movies with Robert Downey Jr as well.

But the best and the most faithful on screen Sherlock Holmes will forever be Jeremy Brett.

    [TV] New Sherlock Episode

Does anyone know if any legitimate sites are putting up the new episode from the second season premier of Sherlock? Thanks in advance.

I would very much like to know as well.

I know personally I can view them straight from the BBC website using the iPlayer service, but that might be limited to the UK only. It can be found here:

    http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode..._in_Belgravia/

There are other options if you know where to look, but this isn't the right place to ask, I doubt mmo-champion allows linking to illegal filesharing/torrents and I'm certainly not willing to get banned for linking to them.

The bbc website requires you to be in the UK.

Just watched the Hound of the Baskervilles. Bloody hell; that was creepier than the Empty Child was.

I loved the hound of the Baskervilles episode. It would seem they may leave the series on a cliff hanger again by the ending

I thought it was bad but I was mistaken, very good show!

Well given the final episode is named The Reichenbach Fall I don't think I will be suprised at the ending itself, but I'm more than willing to bet how they do it is going to be phenomenal. I definitely think there will be a 3rd series though. No-way can they even consider cancelling Sherlock atm. Loads of material left. :P

Also, yeah the delays are all down to Martin Freeman having been filming The Hobbit (if you look at Watson's blog it says he went to visit a friend in New Zealand in the time he was filming. Heh) and Steven Moffat is required to put Doctor Who ahead of Sherlock.
