Have to admit that I needed to look twice before realizing which forum this was. So wednesday is a popular maintenance day for SW too? And people also have withdrawls?

I know I was upset. I thought maintenance would be in 2 hours like last week, but it was 2 hours early Oh well.

i was slightly sad I had to stop leveling. 1 Bar from 48 and I was determined to hit 50 in the next few days. Will go to bed soon and then just start leveling tommorow then.

Generally speaking we are aiming to limit our scheduled maintenance period to once a week, on Tuesdays. However, this week we will perform maintenance on Wednesday due to the New Year’s holiday.

I'm not too bothered with it despite it being on a bad time for Europe. I think they will fix this in the future, and maintenance will become less needed as the game matures. See it like this, if you're not 50 yet, your character is gaining rest XP!

So I should have 24 hours of Rested exp, which I bet will be all of 5-6 adds.

Out of all of the things I could complain and rant and rave out, this is the only thing that's annoying me so much. Last week off for my Uni holidays, I have nothing at all to do, so I'm sat bored for the next few hours. Why do all of my old school-mates have to go to College or have jobs already, fffffffffffffuuuuuuuuu at my ambitions.

I guess a lot of you forgot that for a very long time WoW had weekly maintenance with 6-10 hour server downtimes as well, and it wasn't until either late BC or early wrath that they stopped doing that. So for me I am quit use to having 1 day a week not being able to access the MMO I am playing.

All in all 6 2/3rds days a week of stable servers > having access that extra 8 hours but have more issues then need be. In vanilla and BC I came to expect Tuesdays being the servers down till I have to be at work, and so I don't really see an issue with ToR doing the same thing, you have to remember weekly downtime also means being able to fix bugs that can not be hot fixed out and need minor patches and/or a server restart to clean them up. I remember a few quests in WoW where you had to log on right after weekly maintenance to do them because if you waited if someone died doing the quest it would be bugged for everyone else until server downtimes.


Edit: And if you want to check out what type of bug fixing they are doing during these weekly maintenance if you go to there PTR forums they have patch notes listed, and yes there is a PTR even for the weekly bug fixes.
