I was wondering how long before this would hit the news, granted its on Daily now but you can rest assured it will spread. One of the reasons I didn't play the empire side was because of the lower than barrens chat that usually involved Vette and such. Guess its coming out now as idiots are bragging on blogs and posting/boasting on Youtube. The number of people who would love a force her dialog would most likely be depressing but might make a good study of online game players. Not necessarily portraying us in a good light.
I do admit to thinking the introduction to her was sarcastic cute when she prodded her jailor but never understood the extend which some players would take it except when testing sith and such... well way to go guys, brag about it and the news picked it up.

Anyway, if you don't already see where I'm going with this, allow me to spell it out: the only meaningful MMORPG "endgame" -- i.e., something novel to do after the progression process is over -- is that of the sandbox.

Exactly this. Its a roleplaying game afterall, the choice is there, you pick it.And you shoot and kill people in BF3/COD/whatever, you murder thousands of people in WoW, you fricking run people over in most car games.
Why complain about pixel slaves?
I rather have the choice to shoot my own mother in a game than have only the choice to shoot my enemies. The more freedom the better, thats what rpg games are about.People take stupidity to a whole new level when they sit in front of a computer.

In this case you fought with the man, Killed the man, Took his wife as your own. I really don't see the problem with this considering it's entirely fictional as well.

i wouldn't put much stock in the weight of any "outrage" story within its pages.

Just because I have a slave girl in an RPG on an evil character doesn't mean I am suddenly going to go outside, kidnap a girl and force her to be my slave for the rest of her life.
Just because I shot my characters mother in an RPG doesn't mean I am gonna leave these forums now to go to my real mothers house and shoot her in the face.

Saying that though everything can manage to strike controversy it's quite sad really, people just take the stuff to heart.
