I find it funny how everyone thinks that Anonymous has some unified goal and ideals outside of protecting the interwebs. It's like missing the entire point.

Hacking J Biebs lame, and probably falsely attributed to anon.

There's more than enough rogue hackers out there. I've had my share of encounters with those in the past and they've been more than happy to show me exactly how powerful they are. So I can only imagine what a large organized group of them are truly capable of.

But all-in-all, despite the fact that I generally despite petty thugs and vandals, I like anonymous; so long as they never expand their 'objectives' beyond the whole idea of maintaining a free and open internet and freedom of speech. I can respect them so long as they will always go to sleep at times the world doesn't need them just as quickly as they have awoken when it does.

So bottom line: Right now, their cause and objective is quite simple and black and white and they do just that; so it's extremely easy to avoid their ire.

If they expanded it into any sort of grey area though then that would be frightening for everybody and I would fully endorse a decisive strike on them by big brother.

Over half the people who have a slight idea who Anon are put two things together Internet + Hackers. Now they become little fans and think they understand what the community Anon is all about. Go to there IRC channel, join there voice com and actualy read and listen to what they have to say. You might just learn something.

And yes fan boys you can join there community.

Probably not. Because there is the real hacktivist group called "Anonymous". And then theres people on 4chan who bring down sites and call them selves anonymous.

Anonymous is not a group or a person, it's an idea.
Taking down a Justin Bieber site dose not have anything to do with Anonymous the idea, it's probably just some kids that did this that haven't understood what Anon is.

Problem is that the ones getting hurt is not the Governments or Big Companies. The ones getting hurt by their hacks are regular users that come to sites like these. Governments will try and stop these groups by pushing stiffer laws and big companies will make consumers pay more ..End result is us getting the raw end of the deal. They want to do something then they should become white hat hackers instead and take down kiddie porn sites and stuff like that. There are groups out there that work to secure the web and help police it instead of having big brother do it for us.

These guys are giving "Big Brother" more reasons to monitor everything! How can you support that? Support freedom of information not groups like these that destroy and act like this.

Anon/Lulzsec are nothing more than cyber terrorists.

Last summer, they released information of under-cover cops,Anti-terrorists operations, border patrol operations, and 100 social security numbers of police officers.

"We have no sympathy for any of the officers or informants who may be endangered by the release of their personal information."-Anonymous

They want their information private, but want everyone else's public.

Are these people the ones you want to be the face of "Internet Freedom"?
