Little Male / Female Question.

Was having this argument with a woman I'm seeing and thought I'd bring it to you good people of the internet. Would males / females interact for pleasure (being just friends) if sex were completely out of the equation? This doesn't just mean the physical act of sex but all male / female attraction a purely platonic relationship. Imagine the whole attraction side was off the table, would you talk to, hang out with, be friends with members of the opposite sex for pleasure?

I say this because my opinion was that if there was no sex there is no way in hell I would interact with women. We're two separate creatures and see the world in completely different ways I would prefer to just hang out with guys who are like minded and of similar temper. This of course sent her into a minor tantrum of 'I thought we were friends, all you want is sex'... while I don't think that's true maybe there's a little truth to it. If not for animal attraction I wouldn't want anything to do with her or other females. Don't get me wrong, we have fun, I like to hang out with her but it's a hell of a lot more fun hanging out with my boys.

no, probably not. i generally dont like guys that much. i find them irritating and it reminds me of talking to teenagers. i would still be friends with my boyfriend tho, i actually do like him as a person and as a friend.

Sure. Assuming a girl would be less fun to hang out with because you've got limited exposure to them is a pretty piss-poor assumption.

I know a lot of girls who are "one of the guys", and a lot of girls who aren't. They're both fun to hang out with and while I'd probably like to fuck them all, that's hardly the reason I'm around them. They're fun, interesting, enjoyable company.

Honestly if you only put up with the other sex for the sex, I'd say you need to grow up.

Yea I disagree completely. Women are far more open to talk about emotional issues than most men. If I'm having relationship issues I will always call my closest female friend before any of my male friends, she just understands better as a rule. I also see her far less than any of my male friends because we live on opposite ends of the country these days, but I can honestly say I've had far more intimate conversations with her than I'd ever dreamed of with my guy friends. We've never had sex, don't think we ever will, but I value her friendship possibly more than anyone else's.

I'm a guy, and I befriend people so easily. I get along so easy with girls because they know that me, unlike everyone else in my country city, that I don't only tlak to them for sex, I actually like them as who they are.

I'm so glad I can have such good friendships with other guys and girls without the need for it to ever develop into a sexual relationship.
I'm still at that stage where I keep my friendships and sexual relationships separate.

I have an easier time hanging out with girls when sex isn't even a remote possibility. They actually are very fun to hang out with, much to the dismay of a lot of people, and can make for just as rich discussions as guys, as well as shooting the shit like guys. Writing women off as friends is a big mistake imo.

As someone who doesn't give a damn about sex at all: Yes, I still do interact with women.

I'm someone who doesn't get in contact with other people too often in general - but if I do so, plenty of times I find hanging out with women to be even less complicated than with other men.

ha. im not butthurt, if i was butthurt i would have also gone over his own post and corrected his several grammatical mistakes that i noticed i was originally gonna say that grammar nazis should at least have good grammar themselves, but meh. i didnt bother.
