The 5% nerf. Thoughts so far

This isnt a complaint thread, please take that elsewhere.

this isnt a 10/25/heroic complaint threat. take that elsewhere too.

im curious to see how the 5% off every adds HP and damage has changed Dragon soul.

If your going to awnser, list if you run 10 or 25, heroic or normal, and what fights you noticed got alot easier (and whitch you noticed diddnt change alot)

mostly im interested in 10 normal, but mi sure everyone who raids later in the week is interested to know too

(edit) i'll be watching and reporting trolls on this thread, just keep it clean.

All of this is from 10 man Heroic.

Morchok, Yorsahj, Hagara - Not much changed for us.

On Zon'ozz my raid frames bugged after changing spec and I couldn't use Wild Growth + Swiftmend the entire fight. We one shotted it. On Ultraxion, a dps died at 50% and we 9 manned the rest of the fight without any problems. Blackhorn is still an annoyance and it comes down to people playing properly.

Before the nerf, my guild was consistently making it to the last plate on Spine but we didn't get the kill. It'll be interesting to see how much this fight has changed.

Personally, I haven't noticed much a change. I mean it's obviously there, maybe the kill will happen faster but you still have to play properly to down the bosses. It's a nice little extra cushion that I welcome. 10% will be much more noticeable if and when it happens.

Its hard to say for sure after only one night. 25m Heroic, farm bosses went down just slightly faster. Made more progress but still no kill, hard to say how much the nerf helped since we are just learning mechanics and the nerf doesn't really change that.

Still waiting to see everyone faceroll their way to 8/8H like the hysterical anti-nerf people were posting last 2 weeks.

Guild had 1% wipe on spine heroic (25s) yesterday, choose to extend lockout, one-shot after that. We only had like 5 other tries on last tendon, silly over nerf...

So you came in with a fresh start on a boss you almost had down anyway and killed it? Just remember spine was double nerfed so thats not just the 5% we are talking about here.

Of course you then went and one shot madness afterwards too right?

4/8 heroic pre nerf, 4/8 heroic tonight

Few issues still due to raid setup but while we barely killed hc warlord last week for a second kill and yorsahj for our first kill, we managed to have like 5 alts in the raid and still down them.

    This is 25 heroic ofc

While our progression isn't much 5/8 atm and be barely wiping on p1 of Blackhorn with the ship blowing up and people not moving out of charges. Hoping the 5% nerf will give us the slight nudge we need to finish the fight off.

Back to my thoughts. Due to the patch last night and people having to download 1-2gb we started late and only did first 5. Warlord Trash was infinitely easier as we were able to go from 3 healing it to 1 healing it. Other than that I didn't really notice any difference at all aside from I could soak more ice lances on Hagarra.

This is all 10 man normal, btw.

    Can't wait for the 30%

before nerf on heroic ultraxion (my group doesnt have the greatest DPS) but we was going to 5:55 sec and getting it to 25%ish...

w/ nerf and we had better dps, we got it to 5:50 seconds and wiped at 9%

so big improvement but we need to squeeze more DPS, i think its our healer OS dps....that person is only pulling 22-24k DPS...everyone else is around 31-33k DPS, Our druid tank is around 22k DPS and our pally is a lot lower around the 16k DPS.

Not too much a difference IMO.

Zonozz is still a pain in the ass though

People are getting far too upset over the 5%.

If you were wiping at <=5% of the boss fight, then you'll probably be beating it now.

If you were wiping at >=5% of the boss fight, then you'll probably not be beating it.

This isn't 100% true because of RNG, but this is all that you should be concerned about.

5% buff means you have a 5% better chance at beating the boss.

Heroic Morchok was the same, enrage happened sooner than we expected, obviously, still a one shot. About every other fight was the same. Normal Madness was pretty funny... We got the arm tentacle below 75% and had blisterings out while we were fighting the corruption tentacle.

I didn't think it would make as much of a difference as it has. I genuinely felt an impact on the hardness. I didn't think it would be this way until 10-15% nerf. I personally have to disagree.

Rule of Thumb: If the healer's HPS is higher than your DPS, you're doing it wrong.

5/8 Heroic 25. The change wasn't very noticable other than Yor'sahj falling over a bit quicker (1 phase less I believe). However, Ultraxion Heroic was considerably easier since we were able to finish around 5:45 even with 1 or 2 deaths and minimal healer DPS, as compared to our 5:56 with 0 deaths and healers outputting about 1mil each. The reduced Instability damage, along with the reduced length of the fight makes it an easier task for sure. With future nerf stacks, I could imagine raids would be able to kill Ultraxion before he hits the 5:00 mark and starts doing any real damage.

    I agree with this post.

first, the tendons in heroic spine got a 15% nerf, on top of the 5% overall nerf.

so really, spine isnt a fight you use to say "wow this nerf was way too much" because it got a different, unrelated nerf.

    One-shot H:Spine last week pre-nerf. One-shot H:Spine this week post-nerf. No difference. 25m btw.
