What's the scariest game YOU ever played, and possibly stopped playing?
Don't post insanely large pictures. Thumbnail them if they are that big. -Edge

Amnesia The Dark Descent.
“A man will contend for a false faith stronger than he will a true one,” he observes. “The truth defends itself, but a falsehood must be defended by its adherents: first to prove it to themselves and secondly, that they may appear right in the estimation of their friends.”
-The Acts of Pilate.
Everybody and their mother is going to say Amnesia.
Silent hill on the playstation was pretty scary as a kid, still is.
Penumbra: Black Plague - What Amnesia was made off of, made by the same people.
Haven't played it, but I skipped to the end and decided that I will NEVER touch it as long as I live.
When it comes to a game I have played... Dead Space. Took me forever to finish it because I wouldn't ever want to go further because I would hear noises or get paranoid.
Silent Hill 2.
That game is the only horror game to this day where I actually turned off the system.
Played alot of scary games growing up F.E.A.R creeped me out the most now it's hard to get a good scare but i'll have to give Amnesia some credit mainly due to how it would draw you into the environment
RE 1 when them dogs jumped through the window
The first dead space was pretty scary
I only played one scary game, because I am a wimp. xD
Amnesia.
i remember being terrified of resident evil 3 when i was a kid. the fact that you never really knew when nemesis was going to come crashing through a window or running down the hall at you.
more recently though? cant really think of anything. the first time you encounter scarecrow in arkham asylum was pretty creepy for me. just walking into that morgue hearing the heartbeat kinda freaked me out. then when you open the door to leave and come back into the same room. i didnt know what to expect lol
i dont play many horror games anymore.
amnesia, the dark descent. we used to play it while i was in the navy. the only game that can make 4 marines scream and cry like babies. true story
Only 'scary' game I've played is Amnesia, so it gets my vote.
I'd say it's more creepy and atmospheric than scary. It sure keeps a constant sense of dread, though.
I would have said INB4 Amnesia but it has been mentioned like 10 times. Amnesia wasn't scary at all. I played it with a good headset and at 2 am by myself in a dead silent house like everyone told me to but I didn't see what the hype was about. I really did want to play a scary game but it didn't work for me.
FEAR was scary but not because it gave me the willies. It was scary cause shit would just pop outta nowhere and you wouldn't know what the fuck hit you.
Dead Space 2. I have only played demo of amnesia, and it was pretty scary. But, since i have not fully played the game, i cannot say it is scarier that dead space 2. Which FORCED me to take brakes while playing it. I will start sweating because of the nerves, and i just have to stop. Not sweat alot. But just makes my head moist.
The original Silent Hill for Playstation...game gave me the friggin creeps.
Resident Evil 2. It was around the time i became a gamer back in the late 90s. That game scarred the CRAP out of me, but i had to finish it no matter what. I can tell you this, many lights were on in the room i played in and i even think i had to have a friend over whenever i decided to play through some of it. It wasnt so much the scenery as it was a combination of the monsters / scenery / and story that really scarred me.
You start the game in a car crash and only realize that is the least of your problems....
Waaaaaay back in time the original Alone in the Dark scared the crap out of me. I remember playing the demo where you're stuck in the attic and being reduced to foetal position :P
The remake of RE1 had some pretty damn scary moments too.
