I have an interesting issue...

When playing back videos/movies,
.avi files play on Screen 1, Screen 2 and Screen 3
.mp4 files play on Screen 1 and Screen 2 NOT Screen 3
.mkv files play on Screen 1, Screen 2 and Screen 3


Screen 1 and Screen 2 are plugged into the GFX card, Screen 3 is plugged into the on-board HDMI.

(by not playing I mean that Windows Media Player just crashes (stops responding) this applies to all video players (VLC, Quicktime)

Does it happen with all files, or just some? Most likely reasons are something wrong with video overlays on the screen 3, or HDCP protected file.

all videos of the above file types respond accordingly.

I'm guessing the integrated graphics in Sandy Bridge does not like your files, since it has some mpeg-4 hardware acceleration built in. Try turning hardware acceleration support down a step or two for the third monitor to see if that makes a difference, should be option for it somewhere in display settings.

Can't seem to find an option to disable it only for the 3rd screen.

There doesn't seem to be an option within the Intel Graphics Options to disable or alter hardware acceleration.
