Help, neither screen working after trying to connect tv to second computer

Hi, I tried to use a vga svideo cable to connect my second pc (windows vista) to an old tv, and now neither screen is working. I tried rebooting with different cables but now the pc just makes a lot of noise (why?!) and I can't get any visual on both the pc screen or the tv now no matter how I connect cables. Is there a key shortcut to get the old setting back or something or any other solution? thanks a lot for any help.

edit: solved my own problem, kept googling and finally found that FN+F7 resets screens apparently.

Hopefully you attached the S-Video cable while the PC was powered off. I made the mistake of not powering off before and from there on I could only get black/white picture on my TV when playing stuff through the S-Video connection. I had no issues with my computer monitor though, it's hard to say what happened in your case though.

I'm sorry I can't be of much help, hopefully someone else knows more about your problem.
