no display on startup

so i just tried to install my new graphics card, im pretty sure i did everything right, the fan on the card is running after all... but it is not giving me any visual

right now im using onboard graphics and getting display with that, but i don't see any old drivers to uninstall so i don't know what the problem is

Did you make sure to plug in the supplemental power (PCI-E power connectors)? The fans spinning but nothing being displayed could be an indicator for inadequate power.

Did you install the drivers for the new card before you plugged it in? This is especially important if you're not using Windows 7.

If both of these things are done, try attaching the monitor to the PC through the card again. If there's still no image, try powering down the PC by holding the power button and turn it back on. This is what I had to in my first self built PC, it just took the computer a couple reboots to recognize what to display through.

my psu is like 575W, the GPU only requires a minimum of like 450
