Just wanted to drop in and say that the Thief will most likely be my first or second character, depending on how much I like the Guardian.

was just going to add to my last post:
especially seeing as how gw2 is very, very careful with control. most cripple (50% movement speed) effects only last 2-5 seconds and have at least double of that as cooldown. dazes (unable to use skills) and stuns are only for 1-2 secons, on long 30 seconds cooldowns or longer.
and disabling shot does not have any cooldown, it uses 4 initiative, which means about 5 or so of cooldown on average i think (also depending on your traits), IF you don't use any other initiative skills during that time.
edit: also, in the last build, the disabling shot effect seems to have been reduced to only 2 seconds duration.

Venoms do look so very fun. It's a shame traiting that way gives up so much power in other areas.

yeah, uhm, no. honestly can't see that happening the way you think it will.
that would be several minutes of beeing practically useless. no way in hell anet will make it work like that, not when their longest stuns are 2 seconds long and other controls are 5sec max with only like 50% uptime at most.
Its prob gonna be the better of the thief dps roles for pure melee players. The dot dmg is gonna help a lot when you have to move away and back in.
Also really traiting into anything always leaves something out we trait for the play style.
I think i see where your coming from a full trait three for a utility skill kinda weak.... prob would be OP but i wish the last minor trait was something like,chance on crit applies a tick of spider venom. Give us the option of using 3 utility skill with out having dps poison equipped.
It would probably be like if you have 5 charges on the poison and you aoe on 8 people it will apply 1 stack to 5 of the 8 people or something in that fashion. Rather then super stacking like 5 stacks on all 8 people.

The entire point to having everybody apply the same conditions is so that you don't have like 30 debuffs on you at one time. You only have to matter about the ones you always get. If you apply Chill to somebody Chilled, it stacks in duration, simple as that.

you have to understand though that when you remove "a condition" it completely wipes that condition away, so if you somehow had 3000 stacks of chill on you and had a trait that removed 1 condition every 5 seconds, after 5 seconds all those stacks of chill go POOF, so it's really not -that- bad...same goes for boons..
PS: if there's only 8 charges and you'd use a meteor shower, i'd assume that after 8 meteors fall you're out of charges, not sure if each meteor would apply to only 1 person or not, but i'm going to assume it will.

Wait does going into stealth with shadow's embrace auto remove a condition or do i have to wait 3 secs first?
