    Tanking Elementium Ore Prices?

(Mod, pls move this to Profession forum. Hit the wrong button >.<)

    Hello everyone,

Has anyone else noticed Elementium Ore prices tanking? It was hovering around 130g/stack about a month ago, but, these days, it's far below 80g/stack on average. I even just bought about 200 stacks for 45-55g/stack just now with another few hundred below the 65g/stack mark.

I'm just buying up all I can because the profit is a bit ridiculous with these stacks. Anyone else noticing these trends?

(p.s. Gem prices still remain stagnant - no clue why)

They vary between 50-80g on my server, but the gem prices go up and down with it so the profit from the shuffle isn't as great. You've probably got a nice new botter running around on your server.

They will go down as this tier progresses, because less demand for gems and such as everyone fully gears out from pve and pvp.

The trend will always be downwards for the reasons given by TKD. The expansion is nearly over now, no new content and people are taking a break.

I thought the thread was about deflating the price for ore and then buying it all up. Market manipulation, which is much more fun.

Ha, it's complete chaos on my server. The price averages from 30-40g a stack, blue gems sell for vendor price (except for inferno rubies) and most green gems are vendor trash.

I make a decent living of d/eing but even still hypnotic dust is less than 10g a stack.

it's been 110-130 a stack here for a while now

I wish they tanked. Elementium ore skyrocketed after the patch and refuses to come back down. It now sticks to around 130-140g.

When it used to cost less than 40g per stack, yeah... Me no gusta. :<

in the last week infernos have dropped from 240g down to 140g and the ore supply is crazy. so yeah ive been kinda slowly getting out of it to see how it ends up

Sounds like there is a new lot of botters running around.

E: Current price for Elementium Ore on my server is 95g/stack. But I haven't seen this many stacks on the AH in a long time meaning prices were a lot higher - in fact people were basically begging in trade for ore as there was none on the AH. And it's all from two people.

    This....

After most of the botters were banned, ore prices stabilized at about 100g a stack on my server and its pretty high pop. Over the weekend, ore prices tanked to about 70g a stack.

I bought a total of 14 stacks of inferno rubies between a couple guildies at what I thought would be bargain basement prices. If I camped the AH I could have made roughly 80-100g per ruby. No less than 12 hours later did the gem/ore market take a huge nose dive where I was faced with the choice of either putting in the same amount of work to break even, or cut my losses and wholesale them in trade chat. I lost about 11k(not a whole lot of gold in the long run but a decent sized hit for someone sitting at just about 100k gold total) because of the market tanking. I know that my guildies weren't trying to rip me off as they had no better idea than I that the market would take such a turn but it's left a bitter taste in my mouth where I feel like I'm going to just save what gold I can until mists releases.

Ore prices are sky-high on my server, no matter which ore. I'm buying them at up to 120g/stack maximum and still making ample profit - though I admit that I get shamelessly lucky with prospecting rubies. The beauty is that orange gems also occasionally go up to 50 - 100g these days... and they're selling really well. I'm amazed. I had an entire guild bank tab full with them, not knowing what to do with them, and they're being ripped from my hands. Even other colours sell reasonably well for well above vendor price (40 mastery or mastery/stam gems for around 30-50g... that's really good. Now I'm glad that I haven't vendored all that crap).

Why didn't you just wait a few days? I usually sit out the low prices and put stuff in the AH when demand is high. Though I never flood the market with my stuff. It discourages people from undercutting me if I only ever put up 2-3 gems per cut.

Pretty sure botters are back on my server. Elementium was stable around 100g per stack for months...sometimes supplies ran out. In the last week, ores are flooding the market and prices have dropped by half or more. This is killing my cut gem business. Been reading around on other forums and it seems like bots are back en masse.

It dropped from 100 to 60-70g within a few days on my server. Infernos went from 200 to 150g in the same time frame

Blizzards last patch before the one today disabled 90% of the botting programs. I went a full 3 weeks on my server without encountering a single Ore botter.

As in anything, they found a way around it, and they are making a steady re-appearance on all realms.

Hope the patch today gets em again, dirty little buggers. Sure its good for me because im an Ore flipper, the cheaper the better. But on the same hand i do NOT condone botting.

In the last 10 days I've seen elementium ore on the AH go from 100g/stack to less than 30g. And there are usually 20-30k ore available; used to be 1/10th of that. So yeah, botters are back and worse than ever (at least on my realm). All the "new" sellers posting 100's of stacks are all less than lvl 10 also.

Not even worth listing a couple stacks, because within an hour there will be a hundred stacks posted at a lower price. I just hope that the demand is low and they just have to continually relist and not make much.

Now if they could only find a way to bot fishing. Hard to get mats for raid feasts - and I hate spending a couple hours each week fishing for mats.

It's been a few days and prices are steadily sinking. This doesn't give a definitive reason for why I got out of the market so quickly but it's what I anticipated happening. Also on my server there are 3-4 people that camp the AH constantly. During peak hours I pretty much have time to post my auctions, check for undercuts, and run to my mailbox to get them and rinse, repeat. Sometimes I snipe a couple sales but I feel like any profit I gain(especially with the tanked prices) is consumed by AH fees.

Bots are back in a big way on my server. Ore dropped from 120g to below 70g, page after page of it; rubies and metas dropped from 220g to 130g and falling fast. Most other gems are vendor price. I'm seeing sellers listing hundreds of rubies at a time, so I suspect they've added prospecting bots to the mining bots.
