First time builder. Pls help with this beast!

So I have decided to go for it and try to build a computer by myself for the first time. It will mainly be for gaming, I am aiming for some BF3 Ultra settings. My knowledge of it is only from reading some guides and watching some videos. It says I can't post links so I hope it's ok how I did it to show product numbers.

Here is what I have picked out. Is everything compatible and what are your guys' thoughts??

Case: Coolmaster HAF 932 Advanced http://newegg.com/Product/Product.as...82E16811119160
    DVD/CD: 2 ASUS dvd burners http://newegg.com/Product/Product.as...82E16827135204
    HDD: Samsung Spinpoint F3 http://newegg.com/Product/Product.as...82E16822152185
    Monitor: ASUS 24" VW246H http://newegg.com/Product/Product.as...82E16824236049
GPU: EVGA Superclocked GeForce GTX 580 http://newegg.com/Product/Product.as...82E16814130590
Power Supply: Corsair 850W Gold http://newegg.com/Product/Product.as...82E16817139015
    Speakers: Logitech Z506 5.1 http://newegg.com/Product/Product.as...82E16836121044
    RAM: G.skill Ripjaws X Series 8GB 1600 http://newegg.com/Product/Product.as...82E16820231428
    MB: ASUS P8Z68-V PRO http://newegg.com/Product/Product.as...82E16813131790
CPU: Intel i5-2500K Sandy Bridge http://newegg.com/Product/Product.as...82E16819115072
    OS: Windows 7 Home 64-bit http://newegg.com/Product/Product.as...82E16832116986

Soundcard: was thinking about ASUS Xonars but not sure which. Any suggestions? I definitely want one because they always seem to be much better than the onboard sound.
Keyboard: Saitek Cyborg V5 (most likely).
    Mouse: Razer Deathadder (most likely).
Headphones/Headset: No clue. Most likely one with a 3.5mm plug for the soundcard. Any suggestions?

    Important Points:
Case is large. I figure I will have it for years, more air flow, and more space for upgrades later.
Power Supply overkill. Will have it for years, good quality, for upgrades later.
No SSD. Don't need one. Not worried about shaving off a little bit of load time.
No CPU cooler. I won't be overclocking right away so I will just use the stock cooler for now.

Hopefully I didn't miss anything. Thanks in advance for the help!

A 7950 is faster in most cases, overclocks very well, runs cooler, and uses less power. Don't buy a GTX 580. PSU is overkill but it isn't super overkill, maybe 750AX if you wanted to spend a little less. You are already spending so much, get a SSD. It is a nice quality of life improvement, the seconds really add up throughout the day. Unless you are getting an expensive and fancy headset, go with onboard sound. It is much better than it used to be.

Everything looks good, like chaud said the 7950 might be a better investment. I changed my old cpu/mobo/ram/cooler last Saturday to an i5 2500k and an Asus p8z68-v, non pro version. The only trouble with it is a weird EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE sound that I had to fix by disabling C3 and C6 in the BIOS. The bios is amazing and got the cpu up to 4.3ghz. You could go to a 750 psu but I would stay with the 850 psu. Just me.

Here are some videos to help.

i have to agree with everything here, and especially with the no ssd part...just doesnt seem to make sense to get that nice computer and spend all that money but not address the biggest bottleneck in computers

i was shocked at the quality of the onboard sound, i was planning on a sound card but for my use it is more then adequate, and with those speakers i dont think you will really need it, great speakers though but not audiophile quality.
