Company of Heroes, Dawn of War 1 and Total Annihilation.
Ahh Battle for middle earth was awesome, with its absolutely minimal focus on resource / economy, Isengard seige bombs and super OP heroes
Total War. or Supreme Commander 1.
If I'm being a leader, I want a bt more than 20 guys folloing me. 300, 400 is bout right.
Hands down, Warcraft 2: Tides of Darkness and Beyond the Dark Portal
If what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger. Then I should be a god by now.
You put Tiberium Wars Command and Conquer but forget the Red Alert series
No love for Empire Earth? (The first one. The second one was meh, and the third one was terrible.)
Anyway, my fav would probably be Supreme Commander 1, but almost any of the C&C games also rank very highly up there for me. Except for that last one... I have a hard time even considering that a C&C game. I also really like Emperor: Battle for Dune, which was basically a C&C game.
Sigh... except for SC2 (which isn't my prefered flavour of RTS, but I still find enjoyable), there hasn't been a good new RTS in ages. Excluding bastardizations, anyway, like Dawn of War, or Total War, or whatever. Dawn of War is way too small scale to be called a real-time STRATEGY game - its more like a real time TACTICS game, and the TW series is turn-based semi-realtime without base-building. I'm sure there must be some sub-genre name for RTS-games without base-building.

Starcraft 2 definitely. I play a good amount of it.
Warcraft 2 > Warcraft 3
It's gotta be C&C. But I have thoroughly enjoyed SC, warcraft and total war a great deal. SupCom and TA never made the list?
All games are limited by the latest installement in the franchise.
All games are 3D.
What a terrible poll, OP.
Hell, Demigod isn't even an RTS, it's a MOBA.
That's why you need me.... Need someone to punish you for your sins.
Age of Empires 2 (& xpac), then Age of Empires (& xpac).
Played many hours on the old MSN Gaming Zone.
I enjoyed Warcraft 2 (on the PS1) and Dawn of War 1 the most, but my RTS experience is limited.
