other mmos started to copy swtor :)

PVP stat is now changed. It wont offer only defence , it will offer defence vs players , healing done vs players in pvp combat and damage done vs other players. I expect more changes like that and something like huttball in future.

Due to the success of swtor's pvp system on 2.5 selective subscribers , Prepare for some of the following changes on your mmo played by a 10 million mass ranging from 12 year old children to 50 year old retired geezers

1-) a new battlezone which environment has a huge effect on win.Players can use environtment as a tool to win.
2-) avoidable knockbacks instead of unending cc , immunity loops
3-) 30 seconds cooldown on stun opener of your stealth class.
    4-) cc immunity bar
5-) smarter interruption cooldowns , cooldown punishments on fake casting for griefers consequently a new pvp system dependant on your creativity instead of animal instincts.
    and some more...

Wasn't Expertise copied from Rift's Vengeance? I was reading the WoW thread from the main page too and someone brought this up.

One of the reasons WoW continues to be so successful is because they immediately jump on ideas they think are good from other MMOs, and then make them better.

I would prefer if they just removed Resilience altogether.

Welcome to Classic, where hardcore PvPers get stomped cause they don't PvE, and the PvE content provides the best gear.

It was a bad model, as anyone from back then will attest to.

Now, with them adding in an offensive PvP stat as well as defensive (Resilience and "PvP Power"), it means if you wanna be hard to kill, you can stat for it. If you wanna be a destructive force in PvP, you can. If you want a balance, you can.

AND with the new design for PvP gear, it will be even better for us pure PvEers, as the PvP gear will have lower ilevel in MoP too, so that you can't use it to stack your ilevel to get into LFR and such.

cheap shot > gouge > backstab evisc on mages was the boss! Bleed kiting warriors was the only skill part of rogues back then anyway.

And the change is basically resilience with added effect on healing and dmg. How on earth that will work with the current burst system is beyond me!

SWTOR is new and original and I expect to see these things more in the future.

Also, Rift did this before swtor.

Lol, this shit was already present in 2005, when Lineage II got released.

"I saw it in SWTOR so they did it first!!!"
other MMOs have done this before. Rift had it, and i'm fairly sure there are others that did it before rift.

Just like WoW did with "stealing" challenge mode dungeons from Guild Wars and no autoattacks for monks from Guild Wars 2.
I like how people always yell "OMG ANOTHER WOWCLONE CY@", yet Blizzard always copies the good changes (which is nice, improves the game).

More into the resilience change, it wont fix anything.

Any good game will copy, from other games, what made them successful. It's part of competition and remaining a viable candidate on the field.

    Exactly this!

WoW noticed that the way SWTOR handled it's PvP stat was working well and so decided to take from them, nothing wrong about it. By taking the idea it's possible that WoW could come up with an even better way to handle it and SWTOR would look at that and possibly implement it. This is why competition in the market is a good thing. It enriches EVERYONE'S game!

It was an EXCELLENT system. Resilience killed PvP for many people.

To bad it is not allowed in other competitive industries such as automotive manufacturing or software programing.
Instead we have long lasting copyright laws that protect the original creator by refusing to let anyone improve on his base design.

P.S I want my toothbrush with different length textured bristles, a pivoting head and a fading stripe telling me when to get a new one, all while having a comfortable fat handle with a roll of floss hidden inside.
