Yeah, but...
Oh.. I shouldn't...
Nope. Not going to. Bye!
By what reasoning does an item that has:
Crit
Attackspeed
a base damage AD boost
A chance on hit to slow
become an all rounder for an AP-based spellcaster?
You had Rylai's for a slow. That is the only reason I can justify Trinity. AND THATS AT A HUGE PUSH. LIKE EVERY OTHER ITEM IN THE GAME HAS BEEN REMOVED PUSH.
And by what logic is Warmogs too defensive? You get AP from Warmogs.
... Wow.
Um, for the future: Randuin is good even if you forget about the active, Hourglass' active is very powerful on Vlad and you need to learn to use it, Deathcap is pretty much core on Vlad and you should feel bad for not building it, Warmog is OP and is always a good choice nowadays, there is ABSOLUTELY no reason to not get a second Sunfire on the team and Voidstaff is necessary more often than not. Trinity Force is a terribly bad choice for Vlad and you wasted majority of the gold invested in it. There are not many worse choices than that. Really.

Trinity Force on Vlad, I don't even...
Oh well.
Luck, to be honest.
See below.
Had no AD, and is all I have left between Transfusion and Tides.
Synergy with Rylai's. As it was my sixth item, I went HP gem into Phage into Trinity. Could have gone Frozen Mallet for extra HP with the offensive slow.
40HP = 1AP, 1000HP = 25AP, goes too far one way.

I'm going off WoW because every class has a thousand buttons and I prefer to just have my six, and not extend it. Plus, forgetting about the actives is a waste of gold regardless. No active means full use.
I know this causes a contradiction with mana on Trinity, but, couldn't think of a better one on the spot.

No, they don't. Rylai's slows on spell cast, the slow on Trinity slows on basic attacks.

pffbwhwahaahahahahaha
On a more serious note: Don't get TF ever again on an AP champ. Yes, calm down, I know it has AP, I know you don't have anything but AA while your spells are on cooldown, but that does not mean you have to start building AS, AD & Crit to maximize your DPS. This is not a target dummy where you can have the perfect rotation, and even then, TF would be a massive waste of an item slot.

I don't even...
Please stop.
I can't breathe... I'm literally in tears... Oh my days...
You're absolutely amazing.
This is gold.
Or I can continue not using actives as I've explained earlier.
At 0-2, Deathcap became too much of a liability to build, with Nunu and Galio bullying me out of top lane.
I was seriously considering it, but I thought it didn't stack and didn't want to waste the passive.
With no defensive stats.

Firebert, look. Trinity is really, really, really bad item on Vlad. Do you seriously think that 30 AD is in any way an impact on a lvl 18 teamfight? You might as well be healing enemy champions with each auto attack for those amounts and it would make 0 difference. Trinity gives you minor AP, minor AD, some AS, minor crit, 250 hp, 200 mana and some MS along with random slow passive and laughable(for a lvl 18 teamfight) AD boost on ability use. Out of those stats the only ones not wasted are MS, AP and HP as slow is already provided by Rylai's and Trinity is not reliable when you attack once every 2 seconds - odds are Icy will proc once in a teamfight, if that. You paid 3903 gold for 30 AP, 250 HP and 8% MS - do you see how ridiculously inefficient it is? What makes you think this is in any way preferable to Rabadon's AP? I CBA to calculate precisely, but with all your other items it'd provide some 230-240 AP in total which in turn would also provide you with additional 320+ HP. For over 700 gold less you'd get a FUCKTON more offensive stats and more defensive stats as well.
Also, for 2830 - another ~400 less - you can get Warmog, which would provide you with 1000 HP, 4x the amount of what Triforce gives, as well as 25 AP, only 5 less than Trinity. In addition to that you'd also get a fuckton of regen synergising with your already high HP pool and SV's passive.

Playing a game with 2 friends, and managed to get 18 kills and 0 deaths. Was very happy that game
Pretty much dominated mid, went 4/0 in the first 15 minutes due to their Jungler trying to dive a Vlad (yeah, that doesn't end well. Troll pool OP)
Last 1v1 against Malzahar, I left the battle with about 200HP remaining with Trinity Force, whilst he was permaslowed.
So, yes.
Sounds a lot like the criticism levelled at me for picking DW Blood: "It's like a Warrior tanking with a 2H". Exaggeration.
Rabadon's is all about AP and offensive stats, and provides no utility at all.
