I haven't seen any Cyrillic since that system was put into the game, queuing USE/USW. I've heard some Russian accents, but those folks weren't problematic beforehand, anyway.

Hi to all Dota2 players.
I am a greek player and honored to be a part of original Dota at early stages with a great success at least in my country with nickname: Victim. and Und3Rtaker,ofc i dont mean i am any kind of pro player or anything like that....anyway i joined Dota2 and it feels very nice like i am in home.
But i met some problems like russian ppl all around europe and ppl who came from LoL to Dota2 and they have hard times,i am rly thinkin to make a clan or a team to start an average teamplay and see how it goes.
I want to ask if there is anyone interested for this my needs for the team are:
Speak English
Understand English
Be mature at least 18+
Be european (i will prefer Greeks/Nor/Swe/French/Uk ppl)
And also i will prefer ppl who play sametimes with me 21:00 till 03:00.

I plan to create a decent team to play with english ppl and Mumble or skype have fun be friends and get tactics in game.
I really believe practise makes perfect so i will schedule a plan for this Mindgames,Jungling,Jukes,wierdcombo lanes,Carrying,Support etc and much more.

That's all from me folks i hope u can understand my English are not good its not my 1st language.

I have never heard it used as a derogatory term for homosexuals, i'm 24 and it didn't even occur to me thats what older people thought it meant until I was 17. Once I called my brother a fag and was perplexed when my mum was upset by it, I couldn't understand why she took exception since dickhead or asswipe only earned me a stern look.
This is all just personal experience but even talking to people interstate and internationally we have the same understanding, the word doesn't have that implication anymore.

anyway back on topic, I have found Kotl is a monster for pubs at my level (mid-low) people just cant handle illuminate.
I pick the lane that has the token pub stomp carry in it and make them regret it. I have found if I play another support I cant keep the carry from farming more freely than id like.

If it is a melee carry, try Dazzle. I ran him today (solo suicide lane) against a Slardar/Rubick lane. Granted, the Slardar seemed to be semi-afk and the Rubick doesn't have enough to stand 1v1 with me. I ended up leaving my lane with 2-0 (having killed Slardar twice). Expect to get no experience if you're up against double stun or double ranged, though.

I can support this statement. Did some games with a friend who has played far less than me. Got at least two extremely bad/new players on my team in both games while the enemy team had all seemingly decent players.

Moral of the story: Don't queue together in PvP if you're far apart in MMR/levels, unless you're enough people to make your team not suck.

My 3 friends and I who is around the same MMR played a game yesterday, we faced people who had been playing over twice as many games as we had (2 players of their team had) and then they had 2 new players with around 20 victories(We did suspect them of smurf accounts tho.. played nothing like a new player) anyway one of the guys with far more games than used picked Pugde and we got owned like shit. In that way the system fails so hard, they shouldn't take the average MMR but instead do something like if you queue as high with a low MMR friend you should only be "allowed" to join game where other people should have a guy with high MMR like you and a low MMR like your friend. Perhaps a bit longer qeues but it would help.

Very few people above the age of 15 use it like that, as far as I'm aware. Louis CK did a good bit on how the meaning of that word has changed over time.

Dazzle is pretty underestimated for the most part. He can even be a semi-competent mid, though he'll lose to basically any dedicated solo mid.

I've been in the low priority queue since I picked Drow in a game because they all hated drow (random draft). Then I got another 7 hours because I didn't buy wards as Clinkz .

The report function seems to be a way for people who join together - or for particular languages to gang up on people. I got low priority the other day because someone decided I was russian when I missed a mirana arrow (from ~4 second distance). Them and the other team reported me (because I see no reason to correct someone lol). As soon as I left that game had 12 hours of low prio.

I am enjoying my low priority queue right now. Whats worse is - all these add up, so everytime this happens it takes less people to report for sanctions to be made, and more time will be added.

They really need to make the system not automated now, there is too many people playing and it's too open for abuse. Low Prior for abandonment makes sense, but reports should exist for griefing/abuse; not for "this guys russian", "this guy playing a hero I dont want him too", or just plain trolling because you can.

In all fairness despite my whinging a couple pages ago about languages since they implemented that select language filter I've only come across 2 russians. Maybe it's just luck but I'm loving it . Now if only they would listen...


After playing a quick Single Draft I've decided my least favourite in the whole game to play is Timbersaw. He just seems like he doesn't quite pack a punch really in any of his specialities, also getting that hook shot off is a real bugger at times and his abilities when he actually get's in there aren't all that great. Ofcourse this is just a first impression.

How does everybody else play - Single Draft, All Pick or Random etc etc?

I've gotta say that I'm trying out Single Draft and atm I'm not sure what to say, but it does seem to reduce the amount of people playing all the cheesy comps.

Or maybe I've never had the misfortune of playing with people irrational enough to think "hey, this player is friendly and playing just fine, let's expect them to do something unusual and insult/report them for refusing that." But I'm inclined to assume there's always another side to these stories.

don't know if I'm really lucky but most of my matches go pretty well, little pauses, almost no abandons or kids raging and all that stuff. Only got in low priority cuz of my connection. Even those rare rude people aren't THAT bad so I don't know, seems like people are making things worse than it looks.

I have never seen behavior that irrational, even when I played some games in LP. The worst I see in my games is one team or another raging and blaming each other in allchat.

I am still pondering over the fact that people can't even adapt to situation at hand or comprehend , as in when you're a weakling support int hero who got shat on during laning, with possible death or two, and they demand of you to buy wards/dust/counterwards(while still insulting you for pathetic skill at current hero/game) , and what's more stunning is if you try to explain situation and ask of those who got it better during laning/had better farm to buy wards, you will be shat on by your own team.
All you get in response is "STFU NOOB U SUCK U SUPPORT U BUY WARDS KAKAKA"
