Guild wars one players- any benefits in guild wars 2?

Apologies if this has been answered, but a quick browse around and I can't find any info.

People who played the original guild wars, will they recieve any vanity items in the second game? Or are we starting completly from scratch?

In short, yes they will recieve vanity items in GW2, assuming you have Eye of the North.

Can I import my GW1 character to GW2?
No, but you will be able to reserve character names and transfer some achievements to GW2 through the Hall of Monuments.
