Getting into a street fight, do you do it?

You walk along minding your own business when all of a sudden a person starts verbally attacking you for no apparent reason other than to pick a fight with you. After they say their drivel, they ultimately push you down to the ground...

Now is the time to stand up for yourself and push them back, knowing full well its going to start a fight, but then again it might not be worth it and the smarter thing would be to walk away.

    What do you do?

If they pushed me to the ground there is no way both of us are going to walk away.

Fighting sounds like the smart adult idea, it lands you in jail and possibly gets you a few nice bruises/broken teeth!

Although being pushed to the ground would probably trigger an emotional response rather than a fully processed rational response. In that case i am going to say KNOCK HIM OUT.

I would rather walk away. That's not to say I won't crush his throat if he keeps coming at me.

In this situation there are usually friends of his lurking most likely to mug you. I hate to be a snivelbitch as much as the next guy but i would say to run unless you can clearly see he is alone then work him over.

If it was some random I've never met before then I'd walk away. He'd look like a right tit that didn't get any attention. If it was an enemy per se, then it'd be a different story.

9 times outta 10 if you run, they're gonna be right behind you because you've just shown them that you're scared. Best to walk and keep an eye over your shoulder.

See, ths question kinda shows its age. Back in my day, when you get pushed to the ground, you have to get back up and either push the person back or start throwing punches, you just have to. Now a days, kids get pushed to the ground and then they run home. I'm not saying its a bad thing to do, its the smart thing to do, but in my day you stood up for yourself, even in the face of getting your ass kicked, you at least tried.

talk i walk away from. pushing me to the ground, ie assaulting me? nah, go-time. and no, i dont bother pushing him back. if i can kick him in the balls or a knee i do that before getting up. only the loser cries about a fair fight - and if he wanted one he should have gone to a boxing ring instead of attacking randoms in the street

Thats the way I was raised, it will probably be the death of me one day when I get stabbed but there is no way I am running away from 1 man.

Also, where I live turning your back just makes you an even easier target.

Walk away. Why the fuck would you get into a fight with a random person, even if they pushed you? They're probably just trying to impress somebody or are just crazy. You don't know what they're capable of.

We just had a guy get into a fight where I live in front of a bar, he picked a fight with the wrong dude who punched him once, knocked him out and the knocked out guy fell apparently temple first onto a street curb killing him.

This is why its smarter to avoid fights.

this is a tough one, if it was just the verbal abuse, usually i would be good and talk my way out of it (depending on the situation ofc) and walk away.

I also doubt someone would be able to just "push" me to the ground, and if their intent was that violent the chances are that once you're on the ground they probably wouldnt give the option to just stand up and walk home . . .

But it would depend fully on if I felt threatened after being "pushed to the ground" if I felt talking my way out of the situation won't work then I will use an appropriate level of jujitsu to defend myself. (to be fair a valley drop throw off the initial push would probably suffice =p)

thats why I love jujitsu, I am fully confident that I can defend myself and subdue the average person without causing any injuries (unless the situation demands it ofc)

But an important lesson we're taught is that the best self defence is not to be in said situation in the first place.

If I get cornered or pushed down I would try to knock him down, get up and run the fuck away.
Who knows if he is high, a mental and carry a knife (people dont carry guns here).
But soon after Mr Xi secured a third term, Apple released a new version of the feature in China, limiting its scope. Now Chinese users of iPhones and other Apple devices are restricted to a 10-minute window when receiving files from people who are not listed as a contact. After 10 minutes, users can only receive files from contacts.
Apple did not explain why the update was first introduced in China, but over the years, the tech giant has been criticised for appeasing Beijing.

Pushed to the ground? If that was to happen I would punch them straight in the face. I've never walked away from a fight in my life, standing up one’s self and others is something I heavily believe in. If you don't fight back then he will just go do it someone else which i couldnt live with to be honest.

Unless there's a genuine threat to myself or anyone with me, there's absolutely no reason to get the shit kicked out of me just so some pea-brained pissant can get his yayas off. Refusal to feed the troll, as it were, has gotten me out of several confrontations.

Nowadays, You probs fight back and one of his buddies comes from the back and stabs you and they laugh and run off leaving you to bleed to death... Most of the time (if its aimed at me) i would walk away, Im gonna be the bigger man and just ignore it im not five anymore and someone calling me a umpa lumpa aint gonna make me cry or get angry. Now.. if they abused my GF (if i had one.. :'< ) then yes id pick a fight, there is noway id let anyone bad mouth someone i love. My fist would be down his throat before the 1st word was finished.

@Synthaxx - If they followed you after you walked off, Wouldnt it be premeditated assult? :P as they have been planning it and are following you to carry out those actions so they would be the new prison "Pencil Sharpner"? :P

I think thats the best thing about martial arts in general, it gives the person confidence to walk away knowing full well they would kick the other guys ass.
