Cant connect to the Internet!!!

Hello all. I'm finally able to play games through a direct connection to a router, yay no more wireless. The problem now is that it won't recognize anything. Nothing happens at all. When I try and make a connection it says it can not find a network adapter. Any help with this issue would be very appreciated.

My parts:

Cisco linksys E3200 router
Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3

If you need any other info let me know.

Also I've done a lot of searching to no avail. MMO always knows the answer!

Also I have tried to update the LAN drivers for my mobo. They download, I get a prompt to open them and then nothing happens. Any suggestions?

try installing the LAN drivers from your MB cd


also, look around on the back of your computer, are there lights turned on in your ethernet port?

Yes what he said. I have made the mistake before of building a new computer in the past to try and troubleshoot everything down to the drivers to find out the default BIOS setting was to have the NIC disabled. Make sure your NIC (ethernet port) is enabled in the BIOS.
